We had a great stay here. Super friendly people working here (a shout out to lilly and shortie), the breakfast was great as was the location. After a busy day discovering beijing and hutongs, so nice to come "home" to quiet. Loved my foot massage at zigzag and dinner at the Dali Courtyard. Walked pretty much everywhere and relied on...

A friend recommended the Orchid.. and I'm so glad she did. I don't know if I would have chosen it on my own. It's down an alley off a narrow road in the Baochao Hutong. The location was wonderful. Within a 2 minute walk there was fun shopping, and we got a great feel for the neighborhood. Mr Shi's dumplings...

The room was bigger than expected, the customer service excellent. However... the room was a long 25 minute hike in the cold (Feb) with luggage, from the main reception and NO taxi would take us there or pick us up there. We did not like that part. The main bed, was a king size and excellent but the second bed...

I stayed in apartment 12, just a few minutes walk from the hotel. A beautiful apartment, with a memory foam bed and high quality furnishings. The hotel provides beautiful, nourishing breakfasts and good coffee. I had the best of both worlds; my own apartment and the assistance of the hotel staff whenever it was needed. The location is superb, subway...

Stayed here and the place is amazing! Great people, great place and amazing food. Everyone spoke English perfectly and was very happy to help with everything, and I really mean everything. During my stay in China I broke my foot and due to this I needed to change dates on my reservation (which they did, not a problem) but on...

This hotel has much more to offer than just accommodation. A gem in Hutong. We were travelling with friends and stayed here for 3 nights. The staff is very helpful and hospitable. The food was good, but we usually ate out. We had a true experience.

My husband and I did the dumpling class at the Orchid and we absolutely loved it! The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the teaching was excellent. Not only did we nail the technique thanks to her, we also stuffed ourselves with amazing food and as much beer as we wanted! We felt at home during the entire class...

This is long overdue. I stayed at the Orchid for 3 days to explore the Beijing area. This boutique hotel is down an alley and once you walk in you are transported to a comfy and cozy home base from which to explore. All staff speak English and were able to offer insider recommendations. The first thing we did was...

My wife and I had an enjoyable Christmas staycation in The Orchid. All the staff (Jenny, Berry, Lily and Rachel) were awesome in making us feel at home and comfortable. The food was great and we had a free upgrade when the room we wanted wasn't available. Highly recommended for people who want a personal, memorable and quiet stay away...

If you're a fan of good design, you'll enjoy the two new self-contained apartments by The Orchid that have been superbly renovated in old hutongs (traditional courtyard houses in inner Beijing). Ours was about 10m x 4m plus a small kitchenette and a bathroom. Beamed ceilings, wooden floors with heating, a reverse AC unit, wifi, Apple TV, and new furniture...
