I stayed here with a group of friends. We really enjoyed the location, as it was within walking distance to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. We ate at their barbeque buffet for 200RMB apiece and that I would not recommend. Certainly, the food was good, but the amount to choose from was pretty slim for that amount of...

This is a great place to set up camp and see the wall. We rented the house for two families including four adults and five kids. The house was absolutely a perfect set up. The location is ideal- an easy hike from the house to the wall allowed us to spend "non-touristy" time on the wall while the sun set...

We stayed at this house for two nights as a group of seven adults and two babies. The house has been renovated to a fantastic standard and everything about the place is great. There were some big bugs in the curtains that would have been cleaned out with a bit more attention before we arrived, but it's the countryside, so...

The fact that it is nearly impossible to find self-catering accommodation in China makes this great place truly exceptional. We stayed at the Red Door with friends for one week in October. The staff at the Red Door were incredibly helpful, often going out of their way to help make our trip an amazing experience. They were sensational! We enjoyed the fireplace many an evening. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds very comfortable. Plus it is amazing...
