Recently i have stayed with my wife in MO in Beijing, and it’s a wonderful experience! The house is full of art pieces, and room is very elegant, there is this great view of forbidden city from our room. Breakfast buffet is small but delicate, all fruits are tasty, not even one sour one, my wife is very happy about that. I like the gym a lot. With reservation, there is no one but only me enjoying the whole gym, it is definitely a plus. Not to mention that service is flawless! We will be back soon!
Located in the heart of WangFuJing adjoining to a premium shopping centre yet with its front door nestled humbly around the corner of the bustle and hustle. Staff are dressed smartly hinting on Zen tonality. Even the doormen and lifeguard at the pool are probably groomed. This hotel is not screaming out luxury but rather STYLE! Since every city in China is imposing different COVID measures, PCR Test have become the new norm. I was struggling with how to download the BJ Health Code prior to the travel. Thankfully, Reservation helped not only via emails but a call. Speaking of dedication! Again, thank you. Now, all appeared to be heading a good time. So, how best should I sum the short stay at MO BJ? I’d have given it a 4.5 out of 5 despite there were negligible hiccups during the stay but after experiencing the post check out incident, it only deserves a 3.5 – 4 at best. I am breaking down the feedback, orientated towards constructive, here are the +s and areas to beef up. + A real elegant boutique hotel alike with only 78 rooms (correct me here). + Efficient check in service and the front desk staff armed with a strong professional servicing mind. + A butler alike service is available simply by adding in the Relationship Manager’s wechat. It makes one’s moving around BJ a breeze + Café Zi, great breakfast selection. Juices aren’t pre-squeezed but freshly made. Haha… I opted for Pink Lady apple juice on the second day. Restaurant manager, Dennis (?) deserves a special mention. Running off his feet in the dining room packed with diners yet orchestrated the team seamlessly Not to forget the sea of roofs of the Forbidden City can be admired from Café Zi. Go get some picture. + Love the bathroom amenities, Diptyque, who don’t! + The use of Gym and Swimming Pool is by appointment. Speaking of Privacy! + Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square are roughly 15-20 mins away on foot. There are a number of Subway stations nearby with one Line only 5 mins walk away (don’t recall which line). + Around the corner of the hotel, the famous WangFuJing pedestrian is found filled with shops selling arts and crafts, local souvenirs to fashions. Enough of the +s…. what are there to be better at? - Front desk needs to be updated on PCR Test Booth’s opening time. I rushed there on the hot day and found it closed for lunch. - Security Guard can tone down in asking to view/ scan the location/ health code. I was made feeling like an intruder - As said above, access of gym and swimming pool are by appointment. Why would the changing room be deadlocked at time of the appointment? I booked an early session at 7am for the use of gym and 8am the next day for the swimming pool. Book early, popular times are in high demand! - Had I not left something in the room after check out, I would not have known there is an obvious glitch in BJ MO system. I had to message and call to hunt down my lost items. It was over 24 hours already and no message from the hotel. One would expect hotel at this rating would be a lot more PROACTIVE. On this tardiness, they were too busy in explaining their SOP rather than finding way for me to be reunited with the lost item. Only after I raised the issue (akin to making noise), an overpouring attentions were given. The point I am trying to make here is that, why burnt the time in taming the problems and only after it was called out. Should they not nib in the bud and be more proactive? Eg inform the guest right away for anything left behind. I had a similar experience once in Manila but the hotel rang me while I was still on the way to the airport. See the difference? Net net, it is a fabulous hotel with a strong servicing mindset. It allows me to regain the lost confidence of MO. On this note, Shanghai MO has much catching up to do.…
A fascinating and impressive stay experience right here. Other than the fabulous view and convenience hotel location, the staffs I encountered were enthusiastic, thoughtful and attention to details. Much appreciated for everything they extended to me, especially the staffs from Cafe Zi, SPA and HSKP, they always carrying smile and show generine care. And Miranda from MO. Bar, Amy, Charles, Holly and Kelly from FO who took care of us throughout the stay. Definitely will be back for next time.
I recently visited Mandarin Oriental for lunch and had an amazing experience. I chose from the set lunch menu with options such as the clam chowder, roasted chicken, and the profiteroles. Each option I had was very tasty and filling for one person. I took half the chicken and veggies home and enjoyed it later that evening. Something that I unexpectedly loved were the gravlax! I am so thankful that I was able to try it! I'd return simply just for the gravlax! I am thoroughly impressed by the efficiency and kindness of the staff. They stayed vigilant of the customers' needs and often helped without needing to be asked. If this is any indication of the service of the rest of the hotel, then I'm highly interested in a staycation! I would like to give a warm thanks to Nacho, Francis, and Derio for their superb customer service! I hope to visit again very soon!…
High quality food and service. Want to thank the waitress Claire, Chef Ping, sommelier Bensom and operate manager Nacho. They took care about everything around. We were pleased by Chef showing us the magic dessert. Would love to visit this place again!

We are Beijing residents, and have come here twice for holiday staycations. Excellent restaurants, great amenities, wonderful and helpful staff. Massages by Candy and Wendy in the spa are awesome. Really nice and quiet patio for lots of reading. The room we had on our first visit had an amazing view of the Forbidden City.
Homely friendly hotel with the prime location and spacious room. Throughout the whole stay was extremely good with the fabulous service from Front Office, Concierge, Outlets as well as sales teams. Everyone is very friendly and professional, every time when you enter the outlets I was recognized and with my preference. Housekeeping team also extend their professionalism to keep my room tidy and clean. Special thanks to Alyssa and her team for the hospitality, thanks to Concierge Bill for offering the extra miles on my packing and delivering. It brought me lots of good memories not only by the hotel room, service but also the food! The Lion & Benevolence in Emerald are the must-drink in MO Bar, Mandarin Grill and Cafe Zi both must-try also!
My partner and I stay for a week in this spectacular hotel. Spacious and comfortable room and had everything we needed. I like how the hotel is located – in the city center but is a very quiet and private property so I could rest well after a hectic schedule. Having been able to have breakfast while seeing the view of the Forbidden City is a big plus, making me feel peaceful and relaxed. The hotel is like an art museum because of all its collections! Even the lamps/lights in the lobby, restaurants, and rooms are so stylish, let alone other knick-knacks – everything is so beautiful! Everyone was super kind and professional; Alyssa, Bill, and the team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Please save yourselves the time in researching the best hotel in BJ and stay here!!!…
