I don't know why Gate1 Travel (An American Company) would choose a hotel that has a concierge staff that do not speak English. I had a hard time communicating with staff for information and directions to local sites and tourist spots. Although, I give the staff my appreciation for putting a lot of effort to communicate. Nevertheless, it is still...

Stayed for 3 nites. Lots of tour groups staying. Read issues about staff not speaking english? Staff spoke english, was very helpful in giving directions. Plenty of restaruants nearby. Large grocery store about 10 minute walk. Temple of heaven park is 30 minute walk and easy directions. Metro is about 15 min walk but crossing major roads can be a...

first stay was for a night - room was ok, but stuffy - couldn't regulate a/c and the cable didn't work (didn't care, but...); asking staff for assistance was challenged, as none appeared to speak any English!!?? breakfast = chaos with staff just standing around, not replenishing any food or drink unless asked: total MISS!! second stay was about ten...

The hotel is rather dated. It had the hardest bed that I have ever slept in. Some in our group had to request extra comforter just to be able to get some sleep. The breakfast buffet was one of the worst I have had. Staff spoke very little English and was rather hard to ask for directions or recommendation. For...

We were on a tour and they pick the hotels for you. Right off the start some things were different here. The Lobby is in the basement, not the street level. We were lucky to have the tour guide check us all in. There are several people working the desk but only one speaks any English, and he works days....

The hotel is about 20mins fron the centre of Beijing. The hotel is clean and the room was comfortable enough. The staff have very limited English so if you do have any issues (we didn't) it may be a problem communicating. Very little to see or do in this area. Food is very cheap in the nearby restaurant. If I...

I don't know about others' experience there, as I was reading it was average for most, but honestly average is putting it lightly....Not only I heard complaints after complaints made by every guest I ran into, but our stay there was also not the nicest experiences. The very first day we decided to change hotels as the staff didn't want...

We arrived at this hotel to join our Tour Group. No one at Reception spoke English, so we took some time to get our room key, and still had no idea when we were meeting our Tour lol. The entrance doesn't say "Temple Hotel", but our taxi driver knew the place luckily. You enter, go down an escalator to reception,...

Stayed here as part of a Gate 1 travel tour. This hotel had a friendly staff--slthough they didnt speak English, every time I interacted with them they tried to communicate with me until we understood one another. The lobby is spacious and so is the dinning area. Breakfast was served every morning and it consisted of, what i'm assuming, was...

This was a nice stop after a long trek across the Pacific. This hotel was made for tour groups it appears, and there were many on hand. Three to be exact to my knowledge, and for good reasons. There was a bank of China ATM at the hotel entry, a cash exchange at the front desk, and enough room to...
