We had two seperate stays here and loved the experience. On arrival we were greeted with a welcome tea and cakes before being shown to our room. The first room we had was spacious with satin sheets on the bed and a seperate bathroom and areas to sit outside. We were obviously spoilt first time around as the second was...

Love this hotel! Though located in the center of Beijing, the hotel was actually very peaceful and quiet.Very convenient to go to main attractions in city. And we went to Dongzhimen, buses there took us to Great Wall and Ming Dynasty Tombs. Lots of entertainment in the neighborhood, we liked to went to bars in the evening, it's very safe...

We had the room on the main floor right by the front desk. Although the washroom for this floor is outside the room, it's immediately beside the room and it felt like it was our own washroom. We had two sets of bunk beds, perfect for our family of 4, with excellent quality bedding and towels. Our shower was hot,...

We really lucked out when my first choice in hotels was booked and we landed in the Hutongren Courtyard. It's true that its a bit hard to find since its right on a busy hutong but if you walk along from the main entrance its about two streets in on the left and has a small sign indicating it. You...

Pro: central location, friendly staff, cool architecture, comfortable bed Con: room is small The hotel is located in a real hutong and close to many historical buildings. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The interior is modern even though the exterior is traditional. I was worried that i may not like the bed but it turned out to be...

We have been 5 nights at Hutongren and from the beginnng we felt ally like comming home! It is perfectly located, very nicely and puristic furnished, our room on the roof was cosy and the people there werde extremely friendly and helpful. And especially Seven, who was there from early in the morning until late in the night, was always...

We were very happy with our decision to stay at the Hutongren. The location allowed us to see a more authentic view of Beijing and we were able to walk to many attractions. We had reserved a double room but when we arrived, Seven upgraded us to the garden room. The under-floor heating kept the room cozy; the bath was...

A comfortable, peaceful sanctuary. The location is excellent. A 15 minute walk to the train station. Tucked away in the middle of a busy Hutong (Traditonal Chinese alley) which is FULL of cafes, shops and food stalls.  The hotel is made of concrete, and you cannot hear any of the street noise from the bustling alley outside. Very clean and comfortable....

Unbelievable experience in a negative sense. We arrived, tired and needed a rest. But could not do that, because there was a family dog in the lobby, who barked and barked. We had two rooms. One of the rooms was cold (16C) and no warm water. It was a double room, but so tiny, that I could not open my...

Dear Mirjam, We are so sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience in our hotel. The noise you mentioned is a common characteristics of all the houses in hutongs., just like many foreign residential areas. The windows are facing the alley so the sound from the street is unavoidable. Our hotel is located between two small hutongs so...

It definitely was a different experience than the normal hotel in China. It was very quiet, quaint and cozy. The dog was so cute! It gave a completely authentic experience of the more traditional side of Beijing.
