This hotel is good for business people. Its more formal. Most employees speak some English but not real good English. Very clean nice amenities. Excellent pool and work out room. Food was good. They included a buffet dinner and wine and dessert every evening. It was a light meal but very nice. i do not know if they do that every night.
Stayed there several times for logistics reasons, location is ideal for me. Overall feeling that the place requires a renovation, rooms are a bit run-down. Personell quite friendly, Gym ok, breakfast really good.
My hotel room never got below 25°C during my visit. The hotel removed the AC option on every rooms thermostat. When my colleagues and I asked for help to turn on the AC, a gentleman came to each of our rooms, unlocked the window and said no AC, only natural wind. Considering the poor air quality during our visit as well as nearby traffic noise; this wasn't a smart or healthy option. Though the room was very nice and the breakfast was immense, I wouldn't recommend this hotel due to the AC cost cutting measures during hot months like October.
Me – Titanium Member, 18+ years of staying with Marriott/SPG Beijing – Stay September Make no mistake this is NOT a Marriott standard hotel or staff trained in anyway to deal with guests who have stayed at true Marriott Hotels. Titanium Members Lounge – stale food that, very limited selection. Told that diet coke is not available in China – really poor. I have worked and traveled to China since 2002, this is simple poor … Room – Cigarette burns on the carpet, clearly someone had been smoking in that room very recently given the pungent odor. Requested , additional complimentary water, apparently this is not possible. You are allowed two bottles and thereafter expected to pay. Despite the bold signs in the room stating that the tap water is not drinkable. Expectation that someone will be able to assist who speaks English or really cares is beyond the staff. I raised my poor experience during and after my visit with Front Office Manager, and nothing meaningful done during my stay or since… …
Just spent 4 days here. Most of the time i was out site seeing or with friends. I should have booked some thing closer to down town but the area isnt bad if you want to see the olympic park area. Clean. The food options are not that great but they did have a good deal on the fish and chips starting at 8am. The hot tubs in the mens changeroom are broken but the sauna was nice and big. Lots of children in the indoor pool and a decent gym. My advice before you book is find out where you want to go on the metro as it takes forever to go around 14+ metro strops on the normal for me.
