If one need a real camping experience at the beach Twiga campsite is the ideal place located at Tiwi along Bata road. The experience is full of memories from the beach fresh breeze and experience of sunrise as early as 5:30am Do recommend the place to all backpackers.

I absolutely love this place and should be a stop on any backpackers trip to the coast. I've been 4 times and family and friends. The staff are friendly and polite. I usually camp as I tend to go for a few weeks at a time. The campsite is on the beach and the views at sunrise can be amazing.... More

I'll been many times in Twiga beach, and know the pros and cons, and to my understand this is the best place to spend your money and time on the Kenyan coast. Close to the tourist place of Diane, who is plenty of tourist hotels, but far enough to don’t see them (the tourist). Very basic, but cheap, this is... More

If you want to just relax and not be boggled trying to enjoy the many facilities of a modern hotel. This us the place to be. Its far from being a 5 star but not that they want to try. They dont want to and honestly I hope they dont try. Simple lifestyle, you define your own holiday and not... More

Twiga Lodge comprises of the the old & famous Tiwi Beach camping site and the newish built hotel itself. We camped. The camp site and bar buildings date way back to the sixties when it was a famous stopover for the over-lander trucks travelling across Africa. The camp site offer great views of the ideal beach - white sands, aquamarine... More

I camped out with friends and i can say it was a good experience. Loved the location but i think the washrooms can do with some repair. Some doors could not be locked. Other than that it was an amazing camping experience.

Backpacked with a couple of friends all the way down to Tiwi. The first thing that caught my eye was the beachfront camping. The caretaker of the lodge was really friendly and helpful. There are tonnes of adventures waiting to be had, and for a reasonable price the locals can take you to dives, sea caves and quiet starfish gardens.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights, and were smitten by the quiet beach front location, as the photos suggest. We stayed in a twin room, balcony overlooking the sea, had cold beers from the bar.. Which were the (equally) cheapest beer we had here. Margaret and the staff were attentive, fish meals were excellent too. She also helped out with... More

This place was recommended to me by a local dive centre owner as an alternative to the all inclusive hotels in the area. It slightly off the beaten track but is in a fabulous location by the beach. The view from my balcony was idyllic. The hotel is owned by a very nice lady, Margaret, who purchased it from it's... More
