The hotel doesn't have what is posted online. The AC doesn't work, the fans in room make noise. And the tv is old generation. Visitors beware. If you dont check in they will run your credit or visa card and wont refund your money. Be careful firstname.lastname@example.org. For more confirmation. They promise to refund your money but when they are sure you have traveled back the wont do it.
Nothing special really. A typical budget hotel. One unique thing though is how friendly and warm staff are. Breakfast is reasonable for the price. Rooms can be noisy especially over the weekend as the facility is right along a busy street. There are however good places to sample around the hotel like Casablanca Club, Camel's Joint restaurant etc. Would recommend it on a budget travel.
Stayed 5 Nights here... Staff are really nice but the place is pretty run down. My bed was not so bad but the paint on the walls was coming off and the room has a lot of dirt in visible corners of the room... The toilet looked like it was just being cleaned for the fun of... Rusty shower etc... It's a last option stay for me in that case
The Regency Park Hotel is a cosy and comfortable place to stay with a decent accommodation at an affordable price. Located in the heart of Mombasa city where most of the tourist attractions and Mombasa night life are in close proximity. Food and services offered are decent as well while the staff is very welcoming and friendly.
Honestly, the only good side of this hotel was the location and the fact that it had available rooms for Christmas. The service isn't very good, the room is ok and the breakfast is not good at all. Once again, stay only if location is your priority, it's a 10min walk from Fort Jesus and the Old City.
Let me use a bullet drive approach: 1. The room (a triple bed) was clean and nitty with the AC and TV working properly; 2. The beds were all confortable and the sheets were changed in the following day; 3. The restaurant ambiance, at dinner time, is a little bit depressive and for those who don´t like indian menu, the option is look outsider the hotel. However the price is cheap. 4. The breakfast options are nice and in level for a hotel this category; 5. They provide us in no time a driver to go to Diani. 6. The bathroom didn´t had a contained area for the shower, so whenever anyone used it, the entire bathroom floor became wet and slippery. 7. The rubber and used slippers at bathroom entrance is not nice, hygienic and practical
I feel a bit sorry to give this place a bad rating - because the staff are really nice, welcoming and helpful. But that's about it. The rooms are small, the furnishing is really old and shabby, the bathrooms very, very basic. We were on the fourth floor, no elevator no safe escape route. With the AC running at night you'll catch a cold, without it you won't sleep because of the heat. In any case, the overall feel of this place is very befitting of Mombasa itself...
Went to the Regency park hotel for dinner. It's right in the middle of town. Easily accessible by car and on foot. The waiter was really slow. I asked for food and a glass of plain milk. The waiter brought milk that had a gallon of water added. The wifi was great though.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location in the middle of the town. But you need to either take a room with air-conditioning or a room on the outside of the building. We had rooms on the inside with no windows. They were very warm and without fresh air there's no chance for them to cool down at night. I guess you get what you pay for.
I stayed here during a brief visit to Mombasa on 9th October 2014.The place is in CBD thus very convenient.I think they refurbished the whole hotel coz the reception is as inviting as the rooms. At night, its amazingly silent......I think they soundproofed the rooms. Breakfast is also good....for the price you pay (Kshs.2800 for b&b) you get buffet breakfast with cereals, fresh juice and fruits. This is an affordable place with acceptable standards.
