I stayed at the Lotus Hotel during a recent business trip. First, the people at the front desk, restaurant, and those caring for the rooms are excellent. Their hospitality and professionalism should be commended. The hotel itself is old and needs some renovation. The rooms are very, very basic. I never had a hot shower the entire time I was there. The beds were very hard, as were the pillows. They also don’t provide shampoo in the bathrooms. It was a quiet hotel, which was a pleasant surprise in a busy downtown city. It’s also very safe. The U.S. former President Obama stayed there when he was in college. Food was good but very basic. I was surprised they didn’t have any hot water kettle in the rooms. For as wonderful as the staff were, the facilities could definitely be improved. Overall a good stay.

I saw some bad reviews for this hotel, but it was all fine for us. Convenient set-up for a family of four and in a very good location. It is not a beach hotel, but nevertheless a convenient location for someone that spends one or more nights in Mombasa.

Stayed here for one night won't be going back. Run down hotel- towels were dirty and old and the place was not so clean. Disinterested staff- the staff watched us carry our bags and did not offer to help.

If you're in for a Noise filled atmosphere and sleeping with your EARS stuffed with ear pads then you can come to stay here!! A nearby church or music hall is so noisy that you can imagine that you are right in the middle of it all!!! And this is not just on Sunday it happens even on weekdays and nights too, many times into wee hours!.. If the management can do something about this nuisance, otherwise the place is good, clean & quite well kept. Some maintenance need is showing up although.

Room Tip: Try the West or S/West end rooms, may those are more quieter due to being farthest from the noisy...
