Tipilikwani is a lovely chilled out resort if you are heading out to the Mara on safari. The restaurant, bar and lounge space is all open plan and looks over a beautiful view, a perfect place for sun downers by the fire and relaxing after a morning's drive. The resort also has a swimming pool great for a refreshing dip...

This camp was the last one we visited on our week long safari. It was more permanent looking than the others, having the most incredible dining area. The exposed beams and open-ness of it all was just spectacular. On our last morning a tower of giraffes watched us have our breakfast. Now you dont get that just anywhere!!!! The rooms...

Dee was great. We had many wonderful trips out in the park. Definitely a big fan of the open-style jeeps. This made a huge difference in terms of being able to see and being more comfortable. Rooms were amazing. Food was generally good with an occasional miss.

My favorite hotel in the Mara by far. The tents are huge and luxurious and some even have a deck outside. The family tents are amazing - two separate bedrooms with a living room in the middle. The service and the food cannot be faulted. Our guide Dee was absolutely amazing. Took us on some great game drives.

I had the privilege of visiting Tipilikwani Masai Mara Camp recently and would not hesitate recommending it. The tents are so spacious; I actually thought they had allocated me the next room category by mistake....only to be informed that it was the standard twin tent. Kudos!!! This was such a plus, especially having visited many other properties Mara which had...

In February 2015, my niece and I visited the Masai Mara and stayed at Tipilikwani. The hardest part of the trip was pronouncing the name of the camp. We were greeted warmly by the staff with fresh juice, and the food throughout our three days was a highlight. Our guide, Dee, was exceptional. He knows the Mara and he found...

We had a 3 night stay here in February, and absolutely loved it! Less than 15 minutes in from the airstrip, we came upon our first lion.......and that pretty much set the scene for the rest of our stay! Our guide, Francis, was simply wonderful.......intuitive, sensitive to the animals and their environment, I can't rate him highly enough! I am...

Set just outside of the Mara this is an isolated and therefore somewhat uncomfortable camp to reach , that said nowhere on the Mara is easy to get to !! The Camp , at this time of year , is a wee bit "sad" , there is no staff around for most of the day and there is a distinct...

We drove down from Nairobi to stay 3 nights as a post wedding celebration in Tipilikwani. Our party was a large group (24) leaving on Christmas morning to travel back to Nairobi. We used Twiga tours to drive us down and as safari guides. Excellent company, but that will be another review. On arrival we were greeted with cold drinks...

We stayed at Tipilikwani for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. What better way to start your day with a sight of 6 lions just across you when enjoying their delicious breakfast. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This uniquely situated luxury camp on the banks of the Talek River overlooks the mottled plains of the Maasai Mara, where vast herds of wildlife co-exist with the colourful Maasai people. Between June and October the Maasai Mara plays host to one of the most spectacular wildlife shows on earth the great annual migration of over a million wildebeest and zebra as they enter the Mara ecosystem from Serengeti in neighbouring Tanzania. Tipilikwani's tents enjoy river frontage and are decorated with warm, rich Maasai colours. The family tents have a stand alone bath tub in addition to showers. Excellent food, personalised service and traditional Kenyan hospitality further compliment the prime location. Game drives offer the unforgettable opportunity to enjoy the diversity of animals and birds living permanently in the Masai Mara, as well as many migratory species. Guests can also learn more about the Masai people, proud pastoralists and warriors, many of whom still retain their traditional nomadic lifestyle. ... more   less
