Mara Sopa Lodge is a place in the middle of nowhere.
Taking that into consideration, I think everyone needs to keep in mind that a lot of things are very limited there in general.

The lodge is well located with a nice view over Mara.
Rooms are spacious but ugly. They smell terribly and are not in good condition.
Hot water and electricity are available only some hours a day.
Common areas are basic but cozy.

We greatly enjoyed the serenity and the quiet exclusivity. Great for a break from the usual hustle and bustle :) we invited some friends over and had a drink by the pool, the staff were warm and kind,our room was spacious and quiet..lovely...

We had set up the tour in advance so we had an idea of how much we would need to pay for that as well as hotels. We decided to get KSh from an ATM at the airport on arrival and used that. While not the best rate, that was easiest for us. Barclay's ATM was recommended to us as the "best". What cash we had left, we used at the airport on our way out.
