We have just returned from a holiday in Kenya. Our first stop was staying at Macushla House for 2 nights. We are 2 adults & 2 children (6 & 4). This has been our 3rd time staying at Macushla House. What brings us back to this place in particular is the feel of home from home. We are always met...

We had a great 1-night stay at the Macushla, located in the leafy Karen suburb. Charming old house and furniture including the rooms, with a lot of photos and magazines redolent of old Africa. Staff (Stephen and Peter) were very attentive and there’s an excellent chef. Close to the giraffe center, and a short drive to the Sheldrick elephant orphanage...

We spend the night we arrived in Nairobi at the Macushla House. Our room was dark and the bathroom floor flooded from the shower. The staff was warm and friendly. The breakfast that came with the room was delicious. The house has a nice garden, where we watched monkey chase each other through the trees.

I stayed here 3 separate times during the course of my visit to Kenya. It is very close to several Nairobi attractions (Giraffe Centre, Sheldrik Wildlife Trust, Kuzari Beads, Utamaduni Craft Centre, and Marula Studios). Each time I stayed I received great service. I loved that hair conditioner was provided in the room, this was the only place that provided...

Our stay at Macushla House was pleasant. The room was comfortable and we were able to rest up from our long journey from the US. Since it's a little more remote than some of the accommodations in Karen, there was wildlife all around. Especially evident were the birds and a troop of vervet monkeys, who seemed to love climbing on...

This charming little hotel is ideal as a jumping point around Karen. The rooms are lovely, in a gorgeous garden setting where the monkeys run wild. The staff are exceptionally nice and helpful. Breakfast, which is included, is perfect, and don't hesitate to grab lunch or dinner. fully stocked bar and great wine options.

We spent a terrific couple of days at Macushla House before heading off on safari. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Relaxing in the garden is a nice getaway from Nairobi's noice and traffic. Staff are very helpful. We had dinner upon arrival, which was very good. Breakfasts are ample and tasty. I highly recommend staying at Macushla House.

After a long flight, it was a delight to arrive at Macushla. Friendly, helpful staff, lovely food and a comfortable bed. Perfect for an overnight stay on our way to a safari adventure. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Beautiful setting, quiet, outstanding gardens, and lots of monkeys, located near the giraffe center. The food was fresh and tasty. The knowledgeable staff was friendly. The room was large, netted, comfortable. I will return on my next trip.
