Welcome! A homestay is a form of tourism and/or study abroad program that allows the visitor to rent a room from a local family to better learn the local lifestyle as well as improve their language ability. Our home stay is warm and welcome to people who want to have a bit of culture, home cooked African meals and get to know about Kenya from real Kenyans. Here you meet people from every corner of the world and the experience is amazing. We have housing and homestay options for singles, couples, groups, volunteers, students and travelers you name it, we have a place for you. Our homestay offers a great location to all that Nairobi has to offer, as well as a superb base for heading out on your travels around Kenya. Many of Kenya's highlights are just a short drive away from our home. Is this your thing? We are waiting for you, come join!!!!!

We recently stayed at Mdawida Homestay for 7 nights - coming and going between our adventures. Ronnie & Serah (and their amazing extended family) were gracious hosts even before we got to Kenya! Since this was my first trip to Africa, I had many questions which Serah promptly a

Thank you for this awesome review. You know we enjoyed your company as much as you did ours. We were so touched by the work you did in the village to improve children's lives, by setting up an incredible library. We appreciate you all who were involved in this. We would love to have you back here, not so much as guests but as family, and remember we have a plan right? Thank you so much.

I stayed at Mdawida Homestay for two nights in June 2018. The homestay is inside a gated community, a five minute walk (two minute drive) from the main entrance on Police Dog Unit Road. Mdawida is ideally located: both Nairobi city centre and Nairobi National Park are a short rid

It was wonderful having you stay with us. The boys loved playing football and chatting. They always talk about you. If you do come around again we would definitely love to host you.

My family and I loved having you and your son stay with us. My boys miss your son and hope one day he can come back to Kenya and visit, we can never forget him, awesome kid. We enjoyed all the stories we shared and we are glad that tour time here was both memorable and enjoyable. Always welcome here and a family will always be there to host you. Thank you.

Staying with Serah and Ronnie in Mdawida Homestay was the perfect start to my trip to Kenya. It was the end of the Christmas holidays and they had family and friends staying too. It was a house full of fun, warmth and laughter.

I arrived very late from the airport, but Serah was

I was planning a holiday in Nairobi with family (wife & small kid aged 10 ) and wanted a homestay in an estate where the kid could also engage with others his age and learn from them but not feel lonely with us grownups etc

"Choose the studio, outside room"
"Use the lower rooms if you have kids and you do not want to watch over them every second."
"If you want a bit of privacy, ask for one of the self contained outside rooms."
"Room choices depend completely on your preference. If you enjoy a social experience and want to immerse yourself into the day-to-day environment of the Kenya way of life, then there are several rooms inside that can be selected. There are shared and private rooms inside the house to enjoy. For those who would like a more private stay or are traveling as more than one, there are two rooms directly adjacent to the house (within the same compound), which will provide you with the privacy you (or your spouse, significant other, and/or friends) can enjoy."
"The separate home (just outside but still within the compound) is a good choice if you prefer more privacy or solidarity, staying indoors is a much more social environment however."
