I was on a business / leisure trip to Nairobi and had the opportunity to stay at The - 140 for 15 days from 25th September 2015 to 10th October 2015 and it was a fantastic experience. Eva and Charles who own the place are very warm and made me feel at home. The rooms are well maintained and very...

Was supposed to stay for 16 nights but only stayed for 1 night due to disappointment of the guesthouse. The place is cluttered and dusty. There is an array of artifacts and plastic flowers all over the place ( lounge, dining room & allocated rooms), to such an extent that there is no room to put cosmetics/ toiletries on the...

Clearly a rogue review – the litany of purported shortcomings has no basis and is in stark contrast with the overwhelmingly positive comments from other travellers. Sometimes, an establishment like ours has to let go guests who are creating a toxic environment for other guests, even at the risk of poor ratings.

This certainly was a home away from home. Great environment and wonderful hosts. It never felt like staying in a hotel; it was home and the people managing the place were so nice. I will certainly go back and have already recommended to friends colleagues who may be going to Nairobi.

“All rooms are terrific. If you don't / can't navigate a flight of stairs, there is a guest room on the main floor, plus a 1 bedroom self-contained apartment. If you're looking for a very large master suite, there is a beautiful corner suite on the 2nd floor - great for a romantic getaway, honeymoon or couple with small child. All rooms are quiet, bright and sunny.”
