Spent a week there in April.

First thing is the location. The hotel is not exactly in Luxor, but on West Bank, which is way less urbanized. You'll have to take either a taxi or an arabea (collective taxi) - and see the Memnon colosses on your way - then a boat to get to Luxor (expect a 15 minutes travel to get to the Luxor temple).

It did have the old fashioned scary ceiling fan - I never like the way they move about - and so was cool enough. The bed was comfortable too.
There is a large roof terrace overlooking the fields towards the Nile but disappointingly you couldn't see the temple for the houses in between.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I hired a bike from the hotel (my husband wasn't feeling up to it) and they spent ages lowering the seat for me. It was...
