After an 8 hour flight to cairo, we got to the hotel at 6 in the morning. As tired as we were, we had to lug our luggage from the taxi into the hotel as there being no one to help us at the entrance. Stood at reception forever until someone came to our assistance. The "receptionist" was not very...

We stayed there for a night, changed rooms twice. First room was terrible, dirty and no screen on window so full of mosquitoes and flies. Second room was slightly better, yet pillow cases were horrid, no screens on windows also. Bathroom leakage was an issue. No refund available.

This obviously, is not the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. However, what it is lacking in amenities and decor, it is more than made u for in charm, hospitality and location. The hotel has been remodeled since I first visited and I am looking forward to visiting Cairo again soon, and making this hotel my base camp.

Different people have different expectations. What we wanted was a clean room with its own bathroom and a breakfast- we came to Cairo to see the city and its sights, not to spend a lot of time in a hotel. In the end, this hotel prooved not to be a bad decision. The hotel was nice in its peak years,...
