The Windsor is a classic old hotel. It was an annex to Shepherd's Hotel where anyone who was anybody stayed. When I visited in 2001 it was like Back to the Future in reverse. It was a time warp. The elevator had a wrought-iron doors and had to be run by an attendant! The bar was reminiscent or an English...

Ideally located, the Windsor is just round the corner from Ataba underground station at the lower end of busy 26th of July Street and also in walking distance to Tahrir Square and the famous Egyptian Museum. The staff and management were absolutely fantastic and made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We very much appreciated the very personal yet professional touch....

What a fantastic forgotten gem. Bags of character, really friendly staff, and a wonderful colonial style bar. Samir the fixer, trip arranger, and genial host was great, the trip he sorted for us to Giza and Sakkara was first class, and all for $30!!! The guide he supplied was charming and so knowledgeable. We are coming back.

This is a good hotel. The managers are very friendly. I loved the Egyptian dishes in the restaurant. Probably there is such history here. A mystery. The bed was ok - room very clean. Nice bathroom. Re location if you turn right and then turn left there are lots of stores, a cafe, avenues for many stores. Egypt is an...

The Windsor hotel is in a great location in Cairo, friendly staff in a beautiful building. We stayed for a few drinks at the bar would recommend dropping by for a drink and to look at the old interior decor.

This hotel is really special. Family run and with so much character, it makes for such an interesting and unique place to stay. It also has a great bar to unwind after a day sightseeing. Defintiely recommended

Fantastic, historic hotel has the look, feel and staff to rival that of the Grand Budapest Hotel. The extremely friendly and helpful staff have been there forever and have great stories to share of Egypt, Cairo and the hotel. After a day of negotiating Cairo's congestion, mingle with the always interesting crowd at the restaurant/bar - even if you are...

First of all, I really did like this hotel, and I would recommend it and I would stay here again. I loved all the old furniture, fittings, telephones, elevator, the bar area. The rooms were very comfortable and given how noisy the street is, we slept surprisingly well! The bathroom was nice with good water pressure in the shower. The...

Windsor is the oldest hotel in Cairo. It gives you a spiritual sense in the crowd of Cairo city. The room is really nice and clean. The bar is one of the best places of Cairo. I loved it especially in the evening.

This old offficer's club still has all the original furnishings which can be good or bad depending on how you like your beds-but the ancient elevator alone is worth the stay once the spot for Egyptian glitterati, it is now quietly aging and often used for movies. Staff is wonderfully gracious and helpful although it might have been useful if...
