Staying at this hotel feels like stepping into Cairo's past. Berlin Hotel seems to be an 'institution' in Cairo which has been around for ages and certainly looks like it is trapped in time in a very charming and vintage manner! The room was clean and spacious and ours had a shower (no toilet). All of the WCs are shared,...

I was in this hotel 2 times and for a quite long stay, the place is clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the location is great, less then 10 minutes away for the Musuems and underground station.

I had recently finished up college and wanted to do something wicked fun and memorable before I had obligations. I decided to join a friend who was traveling to Cairo for a week. He had already made reservations at the Berlin Hotel due to its proximity to Cairo sights and the fact that the Hotel helped you set up day...

Sitting at the balcony, having a solid breakfeast and looking at the palmes and nice buildings in front of you, was a good way to start the day. I am a student in islamic studies and staying here was the perfect way to discover cairo and there people. First of all it was quite save near talet harb, due to...

Friendly staff. Good location. Good breakfast. Very simple, but I had no problems in there. Old stuff, but if you are a backpacker, there's all of the things that you need to have a good trip. It was cool.

The Berlin Hotel is a solid budget option in the heart of downtown Cairo. I stayed in one of the “deluxe” rooms fitted with air conditioning and an ensuite shower, both of which worked well. Despite low bandwidth, the wifi signal was steady and reasonably strong. Breakfast was basic but fresh. The one real liability is street noise, which is...

We booked in advance. The manager and staff were very helpful and arranged a taxi in from the airport. We are not fussy, but found the place quite dirty-- cobwebs on the air conditioner, unsafe electrical outlets, very sketchy kitchen and shared bathroom. There are similarly priced places in the same area of Cairo that are more secure and much...

In the centre of Cairo but surprisingly hard to fine. Christian run, which meant beer available- better still if they chilled it! Hyped in Rough Guide for running trips to Pyramids. Didn't quite do that but has a nice old driver on stand by who took me around to all the sights for a very reasonable 270 pounds. Definitely one...
