Good value hotel with pleasant and helpful staff. Only downside is the location - while it is close to the museum and fairly convenient, the traffic noise is quite loud from the rooms that overlook the main road. If you can get over that, this is a good place to stay. The hotel's tourist guru, Salem, will arrange any tours...

Visited Cairo for the first time in late September 2010, and stayed in City View for four nights. The hotel is clean and hygienic (especially when remembering that this is Egypt we are talking about), service friendly and breakfast plentiful. Being located next to Midan Tahrir, City View is obviously not the most quiet option in Cairo - but the...

The employees of the hotel went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We arrived very early and they got a room ready in about 20 minutes. The mixed opinion comes at check out when we were leaving at 2 in the morning for our flight. City View does accept Visa and MasterCard but at an upcharge of...

It's quite uncommon, specially in Egypt, to find hotels in which the "private" space, i.e. rooms, is better kept than the common areas, i.e. halls, restaurant bars etc... This is the case: the entrance looks poor and you have to rise to the 5th floor by elevator to find the hotel, but house keepers, waiters and all the staff are...

I booked City View for 2 nights before before arriving in Egypt. After 10 days travel this ranks as my number 1 hotel in Egypt! As others have mentioned the staff are friendly, helpful and genuine and the facilities (ie. internet/air conditioning) are modern and functional. Guides and excursions can be booked through Mr Salam. They are well qualified and...

We stayed at the City View Hotel for one night in August - we were on an overnight trip to Cairo from Dahab, where we spent most of our holiday. We checked in early and although the room was not ready but the hotel gave us another which we could use to freshen up and leave our bags. The hotel...
