The hotel has a good location downtown, right on the airport busroute and close to the green-line subway. We rented a junior suite with a supposed view. The room had one narrow window facing a building. The room size was ample, except the bathroom was small with not even a place to put towels for two people. There were no... More

When I booked this hotel, I expected it is a simple business hotel with small room, yet its size is actually much smaller than what I expected, but it is functionable. It located at the mid of the shopping area - Myung Dong where hundreds of shops and restaurants nearby. The condition of the room is just fair. The carpet... More

We really enjoyed this hotel. Perfect location in central Seoul, right in Myeong-Dong. The staff was super friendly and helpful at every step. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The rooms were nice, not big, but comfortable, quiet and very clean. We requested 5 non-smoking rooms on a high floor and said that we would arrive at 2 AM.... More

This is arguably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. Despite only its 4 star status, the quality of the service of the staff here was exceptional. The rooms were very clean and spacious. the Location was superb with the subway virtually just outside of the hotel. And being right in the middle of all the shopping, nightlife,... More

Stayed 4 nights in late May 2010. This hotel was a good option for a first stay in Seoul. The hotel is a 19 story building, the reception is on the last floor. When booking I requested a room on the highest floor and far away from the elevators. At check-I was given room #1812 that is on 18th floor... More

We stayed here for four nights July 10-14. Overall we liked the hotel, and it far surpassed two other hotels we have previously used in Seoul. As others have said, it is a great location, very convenient to the subway and even walking to some sites. We booked a king suite with breakfast (we weren't paying). The breakfasts were fine,... The service is nice, the rooms are clean, everything is exactly as it should be. The location is perfect. You can go outside and do some shopping, have some drinks - there are very good restaurants, local izakayas and small shops in the street, or take a cap and go to hongdae for a longer night out - it's a... We have booked this hotel in order to be at a live area of Seoul. It is a comfortable quiet hotel in an area near shops and restaurants. Free internet connection at the rooms. Plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops at proximity. Next to big shops and a shopping street. Convenient for business and leisure trips.

Having stayed twice in this hotel in the last month, I must say I'm most impressed by the great service that is given to it's patrons, so fast, so efficient, so courteous. Unusually, they have an initial reception on the ground floor lobby, then you proceed to the top floor (19) to book in.I put it down to jet-lag (or... More

We were given a clean and comfortable non-smoking room. The bedroom was much larger than we expected after reading other reviews. The bathroom was small but adequate. Staff were friendly and efficient with good English. Buses to both domestic and international airports stop right outside the door. There is a colourful night market with food stalls etc.nearby, also a large... More

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
