This was my 3rd return to the Hyatt and it was a good as ever. It's not cheap and some my find the rooms small but it's clean, quiet, the view is wonderful, the pool is great, overall fitting a 5 star hotel.

First the negative: The decor is a little dated. That's all really. As for the positives this is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. It cannot be faulted. The location is excellent. The views from your room are breathtaking. It is super comfortable and immaculately clean. However the real delight of this hotel are the amazing staff....

I had one night stay from the 30th August, 2015 to the 31st August, 2015. FYI, This is one of AMEX FHR(Fine Hotels & Resorts) and one of the perks is the buffet dinner for two at Terrace restaurant (worth USD150) during the stay. However, I had booked via hyatt.com when there was a 40% off summer flash sale event....

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt for a business trip and found the experience to be incredible. We were there in December so the entire hotel was decorated for Christmas - complete with an ice skating rink set up outside as well. Food is incredible, service is incredible but for the price, I'd say it's best for business trips (given...

This hotel is exquisite. The room, although small, is well appointed and very comfortable. The Seoul tower room I had was breathtaking. Although food and drinks are expensive, they are high quality and the atmosphere is superb. Highly recommended for a special stay in Seoul.

This hotel is the most dated with the smallest size of the room. I don't understand why this hotel is considered a 5 star not 4 or 3. Everything from room, facilities to restaurants feel and looks old with gunk and mold present everywhere. Disgusting!

It's summertime and the peak season for this hotel. I don't begrudge them for trying to get as many local guests as they can. Local guests know a good product and this is a hotel that is a self proclaimed "urban resort in Seoul". What I love about the Grand Hyatt Seoul is that the service is very old school...

The room was not ready at 4:00 PM when we tried to check in. Later, we were escorted to the deluxe room, but the smoke was filled in the room with horrible smell. We complained and appreciate the upgrade to Ambassador Suite. But let me tell you this hotel is just becoming terrible with dated furnitures and interiors.

I stayed here for my cousins wedding. I thought a nice day at the spa would be a wonderful touch but they kicked me out of the spa because they don't allow tattooed guests inside. Wonderful hotel but be warned: if you're planning to stay through a weekend, Seoul-ites seem to use the hotel as a "stay-cation" and the place is utterly packed, including at the drinks lounge on the 17th floor, all restaurants, elevators (takes forever to get up & down), the pool, the sun loungers, the spa, the gym. Sort of frustrating if...

Staying in Itaewon

Neighbourhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
