We stay at this hotel on our family vacation in April 2013. My eleven Years old twins an two years daughter really love this hotel. The hotel was located at the center of Seoul. The price was reasonable. We booked for 5 nights excluding breakfast. The hotel near to Namdaemun market and just 5 minutes walk to Dongdaemun. The nearest... More

The photos make this hotel look decent but in reality it was horrible. The rooms were both sterile and the layout was awful. The dining room if you can call it that was in the basement in a awful state. We will never go back again.

Good thing in staying in this hotel, price is affordable. Near the train station and the shopping area. Room was fine. The only inconvenient was no towel racks. We stayed for 4 nights and not a good thing for travellers. Room was quite spacious though. Bathroom was too dark. No mirrors in the bedroom area. Overall, it was okay. Like... More

As everyone will mention on their review, location is the best thing that comes out of this hotel, its near train station markets and other site seeing attraction. The customer service was grest, also noting that the GSA knew how to speak multiple language which helps a lot of travelers, but the rooms were not sound proof at all, heard... More

Located within walking distance of a few subway lines (Seoul, City Hall, Heohyeon). Found that we ended up using Heohyeon the most as the walk (from exit 5) took us through a Namdaemun market street. Walking distance to the base of Namsan Park's Cable car elevator (approx 15-20 mins) and the Myeongdong shopping area (approx 15 mins). Lots of little... More

The hotel was in a good location near some of the markets and it was pretty easy to get around Seoul from here. Make sure you grab a business card, though because no one really knows where it is - we had trouble finding cabs that would take us back there. The room was clean but pretty small. The bathrooms... We stayed there for four nights. The hotel was a bit strange as we suspect that it was renovated from an office/industrial building. The light at the toilet, corridor and the room was quite dim. The room was not too clean - dust and marks on the sheets. We like the jacuzzi at our room but we do not totally... More

The hotel is very close to Shicheong and Namdaemun Market, one of the most vivid markets in Seoul. Further, Myongdong, the popular shopping area at the center of Seoul is within walking distance. However, the street right in front of the hotel is filled with some dubious clubs for men in their 40s and 50s. They do not directly annoy... More

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
