I was put in this hotel by my tour operator when my flight to Jeju Island was cancelled. It appeared to be flanked by massage parlours and my guidebook has described such a place as a "love motel". In any case, it turned I was assigned a clean and spacious room on the 11th floor. It had an enormous jacuzzi... More

This is a decent hotel, but more for the budget conscious traveller. My family of 4 went and stay together in one room. It is okay but good value for money. No breakfast, but they provide desktop computer in room and free wifi which is great!

honestly i was underestimated this hotel when I checked in. the location was at the alley and when I enter the small building, it has a very small lobby and small lift. only 6 rooms at every floor. but i was so surprised when i entered the room. the room is so big, and have jacuzzi inside the bathroom, also... We booked this hotel quite sometime ago during our honeymoon. The rooms are great and the room came with a jacuzzi which was nice. The staff were great but the only thing we did't like about this hotel was it's right beside a "gentleman's club". Transport is ok and getting to the hotel can be a pain. Overall quite nice... More

The Pluses - The room is decently priced and sized. Hotel is walking distance from four train stations on three different lines (City Hall, Euljiro 1-ga, Hoehyeon and Myeongdong), and is a 3-min walk from the Incheon Airport Limo Bus stop at Namdaemun - the main reasons why I chose the hotel. Each bathroom comes equipped with a jacuzzi bathtub.... More

The hotel is located near Namdaemun market and is only 5 minutes away from the City Hall train station. It's convenient, with lots of shops, restaurants and bars near by. The atmosphere at night is very different from the day time. Late night food stalls are right in the alley of the hotel and are great for experiencing local Korean... More

The hotel is located in a lane right across the Namedaemun market (exit 2). It's 5 mins walk to City Hall station and around 8 mins to Hyeon station (coz u need to go through the hectic market, try to avoid this station if you have heavy luggage). There are also quite a number of restaurants/cafe nearby but not so... More

Good enough for a budget, Location is quite ok, in the middle of seoul and in a small alley. But the room is really dark and the bathroom needs more light. The room is clean enough but the bed doesn't seem to be that clean. It itches when i sleep on it. Luckily, it was winter so i had long... More

Was not expecting much to begin with given the budget and hotel type. However we had hoped for at least a clean, relatively well maintained place with the basics intact. The hotel's general location was great, right in the middle of Seoul, but it was in a bit of a dodgy alley, decent enough in the day but gets rowdy... More

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
