We reserved two double rooms because we are travelling with our two sons. Our request of having two adjacent rooms was granted. The size of the room is fair enough for our purpose as we only stay in the hotel in the evening. We were not bothered by any noise. It is at the 17th floor and the elevators are...

The residence is only an approximately 5-10 minutes walking distance away from Euljiro 1-Ga subway station. There is an elevator at Exit 5 of the station as well. The decor of the single room seems spartan and slightly worn out, but the room is comfortably sized for a single occupant and a fridge and mini cupboard are provided as well....

This place was recommended by a relative so I kind of knew what to expect. You have to take the lift to the 17th floor (the building is served by 2 lifts). Before you get into the guesthouse, you have to take off your shoes and change to any one of the house slippers. You keep your shoes in the...

Spent only the night there but it is in the heart of Myeongdong for a price that cannot be beat. I got the smallest room and it was tiny. The shower/toilet was half the size of a normal handicapped toilet and everything got wet when I took a shower. The walls were thin and I could hear the TV from...

You get what you pay, really small room with basic amenities. Located in Myeongdong where shopping is so convenient. Walking distance to subway. Lotte Young just across the main road. Lots of great restaurant and cafe. From Myeongdong subway you can walk to City Hall subway in less than 20mins. 7/11 just right across the residence. Smoking only allowed at...

The location is good. Room is clean but i was disappointed by the size of the room(especially when i move from another bigger guesthouse to here). The two of us have to close our luggages and lift it up on top of the table in order to have that little walkway. The bathroom is also a minus as it is...

The location of the Green Residence is just perfect. It is right in the middle of the most interesting area of Seoul. Before we arrived there I had confirmed by email that the room really is 26sqm as they stated on the site. The employee/manager confirmed with me that the room is 26sqm so I was happy, because I had...

Location: Green Residence is literally in the heart of Myeongdong, and is close to two metro lines. It is right next to Seoul Royal Hotel, so it's easy to take a cab back to the guesthouse if you don't feel like catching the subway. There is food everywhere. You will never go hungry. The area is also pretty safe since...

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
