We had two rooms at the Beautyland II for three nights altogether - at the beginning and at the end of our wonderful Burma trip. The hotel is perfectly located on a rundown street on the edge of central Rangoon, close to the very sacred Sule Paya. Service was completely haphazard (they seemed to have no reservation for us when...

I recently stayed in this hotel for one night. I checked in this hotel based on the recommendation made by hotel reservation counter at the Yangon airport arrival area. I actually didn’t reserve accommodation in Yangon in advance and it was the only available option available in the town. The quality of service at the hotel was not too good;...

Hotels in Myanmar are sub standard compared to other places in Southeast Asia, and this hotel is a cut below the rest. It's overpriced, even for Burmese standards. There are better options in Yangon. We only spent a night here and did not care to go back, even though the staff was friendly (the great thing about Myanmar is that...

I stayed here in 2010 for several nights and found it OK for $20, but this time around they were asking $30 for a dingy room (rooms haven't been maintained at all, they removed all the TVs and refrigerators from the rooms as well!) which I bargained down to $28. You could get a similar place in Cambodia or Laos...

Quite expensive by Asian standards, but this being Yangon where every hotel sees the new found influx of tourists as walking banks, this hotel offers acceptable value by new-Yangon standards. A few years ago this hotel would have been $10, but now 30 to 40 dollars.

Stayed here for my last few days in Burma. The location was ideal very close to the market etc. My standard room seemed ok, clean and the air con worked. At the time, February 2012, the price was no different to what i was paying elsewhere. They answered emails very quickly before arriving which was the problem with Burma. I...

Paid $45 for a double front room on the 2nd floor. Could not get air con to work properly, no towels, no hot water. But nice breakfast, helpful reception staff, and wonderful location for station and town. But try not to think about the fire risk.

Our room at Beautyland II was comfortable: fan, A/C, in-room shower, TV. No window (sigh). There is a nice lounge for guests where you can hang out and use wifi. Breakfast was nice and they have their own restaurant (which we didn't try). Travel advice was non-existent.

A squalid dive of a hotel with an incompetent two-faced psychopath Manager and atrocious rooms, AC which works only in some rooms, old 10" tv's and one bad channel. No refrigerator in rooms. Rooms are equivalent to a $6 room in phnom penh, an $8 room in BKK and for this they have the nerve to charge $30usd! Unbelievable. Location...

I stayed there for couple of nights when I was traveling in Burma. The location is pretty good and convenient to move to other places, especially for eating, 10 minutes walking to Bogyoke Aung San market. The room is very neat but the hot water doesn't work well. It's a bit overpriced.
