Important: This is not a hotel to stay in for several days to go sightseeing in Yangon as too far outside; suitable for those who need to spend a night before going to the airport (20 minutes by taxi) or to near-by Hlaing Thar Yar Bus Terminal / Chaung Tha Beach. Nevertheless found the area around the hotel very interesting when walking around. Standard room had a good size with a seating area as well - room and bathroom were clean, but have seen better times and should be refurbished; strange smell around - wifi worked well - staff and manager were helpful and very friendly - didn’t have breakfast as leaving very early - It’s a basic hotel and I paid 17 Euro (ebookers.de) which is not too much compared with another room I had in Yangon (33 Dollars, really small and much worser, China town) - would spend the night there before a flight again.

Let's not criticize and look for only the faults. I talked to some of the staff , and I have learnt that the hotel had a renovation about 5-6 months ago. The people are very helpful as well, and they do try their best even if they don't understand us well . It is near the airport and for people like us who plays golf. It is near an excellent golf course , so you can enjoy your golfing time as you can rest at the hotel after a game. The service is quite good and it is worth paying for. I truly believe that if you really want to know more, instead of reading comments. You should call and ask about it and go have look at it , to see if it satisfies you I am sure it will not disappoint. To help I got the number of the manger who was willing to give it to me +959975320911

A basic hotel a little bit away from the main tourist attractions. A good place to stay if all you are looking for is a place to sleep. The immediate area has no tourist attractions and It can take a while to get places as traffic is very bad in Yangon, but taxis are cheap. The staff and manager are very friendly. We stayed 8 days and enjoyed our time there. The hotel has a small restaurant with genuine local food. Would stay there again.

Do not stay here. You can see in advance the difference between rates for foreigners as it's marked on the big board behind the desk. At $60 it was a total rip off, the local pay $25 to $30 and that's overprices too. This hotel had been booked for us by an agent in Yangon as we arrived late afternoon and were taking a 6 am flight to Sittwe the following day. We don't normally use agents but this lady was very helpful in getting our plane tickets and offered to do this for us. I don't think she's ever seen the inside of the place and we will of course let her know never to put anyone there. From the outside it looks okay, a tall building with large glass doors leading to a large foyer. Took the lift up to the "delux" room on the 5th floor. What a DUMP. Cracks in the walls, dirty looking carpet, curtains stained and torn. The bathroom was awful. The bath wasn't dirty but the shower and taps were black as if they hadn't been cleaned in literally years. We reckoned there would be no use complaining as all the rooms would be the same. As we went out to eat I said to the guy behind the front desk "this is NOT a good hotel, it is dirty, bad hotel" and he looked at me nodded and said "yes, bad hotel". We were obviously not the first to complain. The staff as everywhere in Burma were nice and friendly, it is not their fault the hotel is such a pit. There were many other hotels in this area as it's only about a 12 minute ride from the airport. I'm sure they are ALL better than this one.

It was with some trepidation that I arrived at Nice Day Hotel. I'd read the negative reviews but I wasn't going to pay $200 a night. The Nice Day Hotel was ok, the staff are helpful, the bed linen & towels are clean :) the AC works and there's free wifi. The room itself is ok, but its an old building and I'd say from the smell of paint that they may be in the process of sprucing it up a bit. My only complaint and its not just here is that in Asia, the smoke free room isn't always understood, so I had a bathroom that smelt of cigarette smoke, I guess from another room. As for the price, all accommodation is overpriced in Yangon but this is often the way in countries that are developing tourism, it's not unique to Myanmar. Overall the Nice Day Hotel was ok for the 2 nights I stayed there.
