It looks like the owners are just waiting for it to be sold, no new investments are done - things are probably only repaired when absolutely necessary. It's a pity, for the location and it's potential. There are serious plus sides: internet is fast (3MB/s) rooms are spacious and it's 15 minutes walk from Shwedagon. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, but it all oozes a little sadness.
Normally I book over Internet sites: but this time I was in the neighborhood in the Merchant Boutique Hotel when a cab driver tried to persuade me of changing into this large outdated hotel. Thanks to Buddha: I made a visiting check of the premises, and I never checked in.
not so clean 70 dollar a night for this cash must be better options but you can pay the cleaning lady a few dollars she will clean your room properly well the rooms nice and big but not so clean could be maintenance issue
Hotel is very large and looks as though it has been trapped in time since 1970. The Restaurant is very slow service with the staff more interested in watching the TV. Breakfast had a limited Buffet of Fried Rice, Noodles, and Fried Eggs plus some other Deep Fried item which I never tried. Room was a good size, with an Internet connection good enough for Netflix but the bathroom had no Hot Water which maintenance repaired, only for it to fail again the following morning when I didn't have time to wait the 2 hours for repair. Once the Water was hit it was discoloured, but cleared eventually) In all I wouldn't recommend this hotel or return here again.
It was a rare occasion in my life to check out of a hotel before completing my paid up stay . That I had made a wrong choice after seeing the pictures on the internet became apparent as soon as I stepped into the gargantuan lobby which if I am not mistaken is not air conditioned . The suite was a humongous size with very little amenities and poorly designed . Dim lighting made matters worse . There is no tea/coffee maker and no safe deposit box in the room . Every time you order a cup of tea , the same arrived in Luke warm condition after what must have been a long walk from the kitchen . The breakfast doesn't deserve mention . It didn't qualify to be called that . After a stay of 2 nights I could not bear to be there and checked out to a smaller boutique hotel which I will review separately. The Yuzana is shabby , smelly , inadequate , poorly run and so on . I am sharing my experience in explicit terms as I am confident that NO traveller would ever want to stay in a place like that .…
