The self contained rooms are expensive, but are very nice. The shared bathroom, rooms were perfect for me, about $80 a night, it just meant you had to walk about 20 feet to a block of toilets and showers, these were very private and neat and clean. But you have the same access to everything else available to the expensive...

If you want to get away from the rat race and technology, and just want to stop - then this is the place to do it. The atmosphere is relaxed. The beaches are coral, clean and some of the best snorkeling I have ever done, fish and coral everywhere - 2 metres from the shore. All the people, from the...

Hi Shaun, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Hideaway Island and we are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us. It is a great relaxed atmosphere around the restaurant and bar with the guests interacting but as you said easy to escape away to your own space if you so desire. Look forward...

Although a little more pricey than the rest of Vanuatu (much more western-oriented) this is truly an earthly paradise. We, a family of 5, had a bungalow next to the beach for 9 days. The incredible thing is, although the beach is made of corals and shoes are necessary, as soon as you put your head under water, you're in...

The locals that work at Hideaway island are the happiest, most helpful people. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and they will go out of their way to make sure you are happy. I had hurt my leg before we got to hideaway and the staff were always making sure I was ok. From giving me a hand...

My friends and I were backpacking in Vanuatu. We didn't stay there, but spent the day and it was amazing! Make sure to order a piña colada and a curry (THE BEST! We tried them all: vegetable, chicken or fish). It's worth your money! And best snorkeling ever! You do not need to go far from the beach to see...

Have to agree the Pina Colada and Curry are pretty special and a Hideaway Island signature for many years and many more to come! We look forward to welcoming day visitors to the island. The resort is small and personal. There are only a dozen bungalows and some backpacker type rooms. The beach gets a fair share of day visitors especially when there is a cruise boat in town. Before they arrive and when they have departed, things return to normal. Our lagoon view bungalow looked directly over the water towards Port Vila in...

You can stay on Hideaway Island, off Mele, Etafe, Vanuatu, in privacy overlooking the Pacific, or visit for a day, which I did. It's a 'must do' while staying in Port Vila. Fabulous snorkeling. A glass- bottomed boat to see the awesome array of fish. And there's even an underwater postbox to sends cards to your envious friends. Or just...

Spent 1 week in twin share dorm, fortunately I was by myself and not sharing, which was a bonus as I found the size and amenities of the room to be inadequate for 2 adults, also the shower and toilet is in a separate block, although close, was inconvenient. The continental breakfast was good and met the basic requirements, and...

We recently stayed on Hideaway Island for a diving holiday. We stayed in a semi attached bungalow room which was roomy and probably more than we needed. The rooms overall were nice but there were little things that i believe let the rooms down considering they're not exactly a cheap accommodation option. The bathroom doors were off their runners when...
