What a gorgeous island that caters for everyone. I went with my two year old son and my mother. We had an amazing experience. It’s a very romantic spot for couples and popular for weddings from what we saw. You can’t beat the view and...More
It’s a bit tricky to write an objective review about our stay at Erakor island.
The island itself is beautiful and very remote. You can get snorkeling equipment and kayaks for free to explore the amazing reefs. Be aware that some of the masks are...More
Erakor Island Resort is a beautiful, well manicured Island Resort with excellent accommodations and friendly, helpful staff who always greet you by your name within the first day (I don’t know how they remember everyone’s name!)
Food was good especially the breakfasts.

My family and I had a wonderful 10 days at Erakor Island. Having 3 teenagers I was hoping they wouldn't get bored, and that they certainly didn't. I heard zero complaints the whole time.. We swam, snorkelled, kayaked around the island, walked around the island,...More
This place exceeded my expectations (I'll be honest; they were pretty high with it being our 20th Wedding Anniversary). The island staff made us feel like part of the family and this was the icing on the cake. The atmosphere, gardens, rooms, food, professionalism and...More

We did not find the food overly expensive at all. Breakfast is included in the price of your stay - they have all the usual continental breakfast items including amazing pastries. There is also a cooked breakfast menu (eggs, pancakes etc) at no extra charge and it is fantastic. Other meals were probably similar to what you would pay in Australia but it was without a doubt some of the best food we have ever had. Fresh, fresh, fresh and plentiful. Excellent beef and fish and the fruit is gorgeous. If you don’t want to eat in the restaurant, staff happily bring meals and drinks to your villa.
We are not big drinkers and only had the occasional drink/cocktail which again, was on par with Australian prices. We had a family of two adults and two kids stay for a week and our total food/drink bill (eating every day at the resort)worked out to about $500.
There is a 24 hour boat back to the mainland (5 minute trip) and you can get a taxi or bus into town (5-10 mins). You can easily drop into the local supermarket (called Bon Marche) to buy drinks and snacks etc. There is an ATM and they take eftpos. I didn’t buy a great deal but the supermarket is well stocked with anything you could possibly want or need. My husband is a smoker and cigarettes are also very cheap...that was the only thing we did find expensive at the resort.
Port Villa also has a large number of restaurants but we didn’t try these during our stay...next time.
