We went to Carp Island as part of our honeymoon. The island was lovely, completely remote and natural - as it should be! We had requested a nice, quiet bungalow and were told they would choose a nice once, instead we were put next to the bungalows which were being renovated and next to the 'public' loo... Where should I start?? Most of the reviews are accurate when it comes to the conditions, but i think alot of reviews were way too kind!........Over priced, Run Down, Unkempt, Uncomfortable, Not much to do, bad management, staff left much to be desired but who can blame them. Palau is a beautiful place and this "so called resort?" could be... More

Not sure what to say... The island is beautiful with very shallow waters all around. We were here for 6 days. We went around the island in kayaks, staff brought them to us. Problem: Kayaks were leaking (holes in them!) and took in so much water (in the body of the kayak) that we would have sunken had we not... More

Carp Island is best location in Palau Island. I went to carp island for many times and i wish i can do it every year because very relaxing place, peaceful and good for diving. Carp island is close to Pelilui island were the longest battle of Japanese and American.

Each person's experience is unique, but there are common traits of a location. I stayed for only 2 days, but I think that was enough for me. As many have noted, there is no air-conditioning in the bungalows. If you choose the Sunrise Villas, you will get the benefit of a nice breeze. I did not choose them and as... More

Getting here takes about an hour by boat from Koror - which the resort will charge you for (but not young children). The island is set up for divers really but we just came just to chill out for a few days on a friend's recommendation and we're very glad we did. From here we took one tour out to... More

I am an experienced traveller. We stayed 9 days (too long), mid-season, 150 US$/night + 17% tax = 178 US$ for a fan bungalow facing sunrise, including a cheap quality breakfast (cheapest everything: cheap bread, cheap milk, cheap instant coffee, cheap cereals, bad canned fruits, cheap jelly... They are stingy and greedy for your money. No fun, cocktails or music... More

Fantastic place to stay and very good staff. Mike is a perfect guide for tours, snorkeling/scuba and I have been told Tina is a fantastic scuba trainer. Place is very simple, and, yes, may bee it could be better kept. You have to buy a card for internet connection ( 5 USD for 2 hours). In the mini market you... More

We spent 7 days at Carp Island resort. The Island has jungle and you can walk to the north and east on the island. To walk around the island takes about an hour. The reason I give this 3 stars is that the restaurant has community tables. Very basic. Buffet style food. No bar, nothing really to buy outside of... More

We were welcomed by staff and our divemaster, Saki, when our boat touched land. Everyone was so gracious! The resort itself is rustic but so what. We were there to dive. The cottages that looked out o the beach were very plain and the beds just ok (Japanese-style) but we slept well regardless. We had our own bathroom and a... More
