Fatima Hostel has more than 10 years of experience in backpacking tourism and it is one of the biggest hostels in Bogotá. We are attracted for the fruits that characterize our country and therefore, at breakfast time we offer fresh fruits and hot coffee accompanied by toast. Our hostel is characterized by searching experiential enjoyment of our guests, so we perform daily activities such as Karaoke, bingo, salsa class, etc. We also have a restaurant / bar open to the public, where we offer international food and parties with good vibes, which are formed in an intercultural environment.

The location of the hostel is great for sightseeing and it’s a safe area. I booked a private room and it was loud during the day and night so a bit of a tough sleep. The blinds are garbage so light pours through in the morning. Also there was a camera right over my window and above the bed (outside the building) which was creepy. The washrooms arent great, there’s no hooks, half the doors dont lock and lights are all dead. Out front of the hostel is a bar that’s sometimes alright but it’s easy to meet people inside the kitchen lounge.

They double charged us and took more than a month to pay us back. We had to go twice to claim the refund. The owner of the place, Paula Gómez, denied being in charge of the establishment and refused to help us on different occasions. They only agreed to return the money after we called the police. We booked a private room with a private bathroom and they wanted us to stay in a room with a shared bathroom for the same price. Terrible service, terrible attention and zero friendliness. With certainty we can say that it is the worst option to stay in the Historic Center of Bogotá.

We had a very bad experience here so far. First the Fatima Hostel, which we booked, was closed so we were forced to check in to another hostel in the middle of the night at 3am. Once arrived, our bookings which we made prior weren’t available though we completely payed for it. We got only one room instead of two eventually. The paid money was lost, they had so massive problems with their booking system or maybe they just trolled us to keep the money. linen/bed covers were still used/unchanged!!!

I am going to start with positive: - staff was professional, helpful by telling about attractions and even helped us to get into the Breaking Borders tour which otherwise would have been out of limits (due to covid) - location is muy bueno, Bogota’s nicest attractions are very close-by However, regardless of the price level, I would expect the following from any hostel/hotel/guesthouse in a big city like Bogota: - I should be able to sleep at night - our room did not block any noise and some of the other guests were making noise throughout the night so it was impossible to sleep, even with ear plugs. We even asked the other guests to keep their voice down, without success, and the receptionist made zero effort to make them respect other guests’ needs to sleep - I should be able to shower with warm water - not everynight, apparently. Tough luck - I should have a regular pillow in my bed instead of a couch cushion - no further explanation needed, at least this was true for my significant other The rest of my feedback is more up for depate about what to expect with 14€/day room rate, like the cleanliness and condition of the room (which to me looked quite bad).

Without doubt i like this hostel.. I had a lot of fun not only with the other visitors but also with the staffs—They were extremely friendly; Uriel and others deserves a special thanks. We had two great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience.

Very quiet hostel, not a great spot to meet people, the bar serves amazing pizza! Room floor was filthy, pictures are from about 20 years ago. Valentina was really helpful! Wouldn't stay for longer than 1/2 nights. We also had the room facing the main street it was impossible to get a decent night sleep with the traffic

Fatima Hostel Bogota Whilst facilities were ok, staff were an absolute drainer during our experience. I would not recommend booking airport transfer via hostel as they were charging COP $60! However if you get a taxi they charge COP $30 or better yet, download Taxify/Cabify (cheaper than Uber) and book it for COP $16!!!!! We had to cancel a transfer last minute however staff hassled us to still pay (a reduced price), even though we weren't informed of any cancellation policies. They definitely will milk money out of you wherever possible. Despite asking staff for cheapest options, they completely neglected to help us out, which shows that their intentions are purely business-orientated rather than customer-orientated. This was reiterated as one of the workers had the audacity to tell me off for washing some clothes by hand in the bathroom as their washing machine was broken at the time and I had no other choice. I was rudely told off as I was "not allowed to do so and need to follow hostel rules". I hadn't seen any rules or signs saying this wasn't allowed so I am very shocked how rude the staff member reacted. Room and comfort was ok but the staff not being accommodating definitely ruined our vibes and whole Bogota experience. We only had a 2 night stay which we wanted to relax and unwind but instead, we tolerated such unnecessary poor customer service.

We stayed in three different rooms, one worse than the other, the Plugs did not work, the smell of paint made it unbearable to be in the room on Noise from 6:00 am until late at night and the humidity did not allow us to sleep any day, Smell of dampness in the bathroom was simply disgusting, we found spiders on the walls and beds, three leaks every time it rained, the sink and the Cup was completely broken so the bathroom was flooded, finally the Wifi was dismal. The administrator Paula, promised to solve the situation, give us a solution that never came, when we contacted the receptionist she said she was no longer working there. Without a doubt the worst hostel I have ever met.

We stayed at the fatima hostel in Santa Marta. The staff was really helpful and nice, especially Eduardo! He did a litle live concert for us, really amazing. :) The rooms are nice with AC and the breakfast is simple but fine.

We stayed in the Fatima Hostel in Santa Marta on and off between trips to tayrona, palomino and minka and it was a real pleasure. The staff was lovely and did their best to make us feel at home. Special thanks to Eduardo, you're awesome !
