We literally left a few minutes after arriving. It's that bad! 1st view of it from the outside, looked dodgy. Thought it would get better inside, it was worse. It looked like they just put together random furniture and beds in a building and called it a hostel. Dirty and unkept. The thought of staying there for a night was depressing. We don't understand why all the other reviews are good.
The hostel is located near the area with the bars and shops, which is better than the city centre due to safety. Staff is very friendly and laidback and speak english very well, with helpful tips. Very recommendable!
82hostel is located near T zone, where all the shopping malls, restaurants bars and clubs are. The workers are very friendly and kind, and always willing to help with anything you need, and showed Flexibility for everything I needed. The showers Always had hot water, and the rooms were clean. I would recommend It to anyone who'd like to be close to the center of Bogota
Rooms are Nice, there is a place to chill but... Breakfast is horrible and a Guy who work at the reception is agressive... We are smokers: in this place, if you wanna smoke, you have to get out. For that, someone have to push a button to open the door. For disturb him less as possible, we let the door open during we where smoking in front of the hostel: the Guy became crazy and he yelled at us that we may not do that... Not funny!
Can't go wrong here. Its super clean and they have 5 individual bathrooms which is plenty. We had a private Double next to the specious and relaxing roof top terrace which was very comfortable. Staff was excellent, the tattooed guy at checkin was cheerful and made us feel very welcome. The area is superb, 5 Minute walk to Zona T and pretty safe. Only slight negatives: The breakfast is really basic with toast and cornflakes (no fruit or eggs) and it could get a little loud from the restaurant next door. However, we had a super quiet room to the back so it didnt bother us. Recommended - also much better area than seedy La Calendaria. Enjoy! Also, they have the fastest WiFi we had in 6 weeks in Colombia.
I liked this hostel. It is on a good location, close to a nice strip. The hostel was clean every day, and the staff is very kind. The setup of the whole hostel was pretty good aswell. Nice diner area, and a room to chill out for a bit! =)
The staff was rude, the breakfast was terrible, and the hostel was unsanitary. Definitely don't stay here. The staff was unreasonable, and rude almost everyday of my two week long stay. They partied loudly on Friday nights. The breakfast consisted of mediocre wonder bread, cereal and milk. Once a staff member said our group ate too much bread and refused to offer more. I was consistently unsatisfied staying here. Definitely do not recommend
I would say nothing special. Good location in citycentre, but molesting smell inside at the entrance, breakfast included but cereals always finished already at 8am, one bathroom in one floor of 14 beds. The dorm was quite good, spacious and clean with security lockers. Good price.
The best location you can wonder in Bogota, no far from anywhere, safe area, a lot of tours options to do in Bogota, easy to get here by bus, taxi or uber, restaurants, café and bars close by, Zona Rosa, 85th street and Transmillenio just a block walk, The hostel is a very good worth price, breakfast included, very tasty coffee 24 hours, a wonderful kitchen with all you need if you enjoy to cook by your self while traveling, good environment, to meet people or just relax, is a big house with a lot of space and seems they are always working to improve more the hostel, Very strong Wifi connection which is number 1 priority for me, the rooms are clean and good enough bathrooms, always clean and with a spray to disinfect the facilities, hot water as well, The staff is very helpful and nice, always awake to help you or open the door at 6am *sorry for that* it means you can arrive here any time without any issue, they keep it in silence when is the time. The cleaning woman, really trustable and nice, even when she don't speak English you can try your best in Spanish and she will help you. I can recommend this hostel in everyway for all travelers, which have been difficult for me to say this about a hostel before, 100% recommended.…
We should have stayed in la candeleria but were put off by reports it was dangerous. Ironically, the location of this hostel felt much less safe. Main complaints: staff don't bother to give you an introduction to the area/a map or any helpful info; breakfast is so grim we didn't eat it; wifi is unreliable, one computer is broken and the other isn't connected to the internet; the "tv room" had a broken DVD player that they haven't bothered to fix for a year and a half; the showers won't work if they are all on at the same time; it is horribly cold because the staff leave windows open all the time and there are lots of open spaces. Final complaint was the awful staff member who accused me of stealing a 4000COP bottle of water and wouldn't accept (or check) that I paid a colleague - being treated like a petty criminal when you check out really isn't acceptable. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.…
