Next to the 4 seasons, a brick clad attractive property lacking lounge facilities with relatively small rooms, in a noisy restaurant area. Willing personnel but insufficient property. Unduly pricey and breakfastless. Occasionally parties next door could be most taxiing. Thus, there are much better deals in town. The French company shall be cautious of the fine ambassador stationed in this fine locality of Bogota mismanaging its credentials. Minimal banqueting, beds very soft, unduly aggressive pricing when some of the competitors are more stylish and provide with more originality.
Absolutely a great hotel. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The entire staff is great. My wife and I were very satisfied. Comment: The TV is hard to operate and when you just turn it to TV, it switches back to the Sofitel start screen automatically which is annoying. There was a water problem that lasted about 1/2 hour. All in all, it was excellent.
I've been staying at this hotel for 25 years, including long three stays in 2002. The service is ranks with the best five star hotels I've been anywhere - including New York, London, Shanghai, and elsewhere. The staff and management have a true culture of excellence that never falters. I'm always stunned that they continue to surpass their already outstanding work. This is the best location in Bogota, without doubt. Rooms are really comfortable, and the food is wonderful (I'm a diabetic and vegetarian, and they cook whatever I want, even though it's not on the menu). Countless accolades!!
I highly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The location is central to restaurants, shopping, bars, etc. It's conveniently located to other popular parts of Bogota. What really stood out is the customer service by the entire staff. From the help offloading our bags, to the front desk, to the services, etc. - the staff truly makes this an unique and wonderful place! When checking into the room, they provide fresh fruits & a Covid bag (sanitizer, masks, etc.). I really appreciate help from Gina and Juan. Gina messaged a few days before asking about Covid tests required to return home. Juan went above and beyond to help me with various items throughout my stay. Highly recommend!
This is a great hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds and rooms, quiet location. Amazing breakfast and close to many great restaurants and shops. Clean rooms with daily local fruit. Everything you would need for a comfortable stay including COVID test and drivers if needed.
My experience right from airport pick up to the last day of my stay was exceptional. The staff were friendly and helpful in every way. The hotel is centrally located in Zona Rosa and close to so many fantastic restaurants and walkable to the Chapinero and Parque 93 neighborhoods. I had to do a PCR test before departing to my next destination, the hotel staff arranged everything for me, the lab tech came to the hotel for the test and it was so convenient. The lab spelled my name wrong on the results and the hotel staff sorted it out immediately without me having to make any efforts. They provided great food recommendations, being a single female traveller, safety and comfort is of utmost importance and this hotel has both - even the bath products in the room were luxurious. Highly recommend a stay here and I can’t wait to go back.…
We had a three night stay at the Sofitel a few weeks ago. It is wonderfully located with many great restaurants within a few blocks. The hotel is beautifully appointed and decorated. Our room was lovely with a terrific shower! Also, housekeeping was positively stellar. We slept late every day, and no matter the hour, housekeeping was perfect when we returned to our room late in the afternoon. But nothing can make up for the extra special service we received. We went to a wedding in another town and left our passports and wallets in the hotel safe! We needed the passports to check into our next hotel, and the way the front desk handled this - and in such a timely fashion - was wonderful. When we returned a few days later to pick up our personal items, they were in a large envelope with a complete inventory attached. Additionally, we were flying back to the US later that evening and had not been able to find a lab open to perform our COVID tests. The front desk at the Sofitel arranged for a technician to come to the hotel and administer our tests. One hour later, we were on our way to the airport - crucial personal items recovered and our test results in our inboxes. I cannot thank the staff at Sofitel enough. What a wonderful experience!…
We stayed at the Sofitel Bogota Victoria Regia Hotel at the beginning of our visit to Colombia and were very pleased with the facilities, service and location. It is truly a five-star hotel, and the staff was wonderful and very helpful. Our room was nicely furnished and had good amenities and even had windows that open to let in some fresh air. The dining room was well appointed, and the breakfast buffet was very good. We left early on our last day, and they prepared an outstanding box breakfast that had a great assortment of cut fruit, homemade yogurt, croissants, cold cuts and cheeses. The staff also went out of their way to assist my wife who was suffering from altitude sickness. They arranged for a doctor to come to our room who provided appropriate mediation that led to a quick cure so we could enjoy the rest of our stay in Columbia. We were also pleased with communications we had with hotel staff before our arrival and got excellent recommendations for local restaurants and advice on breakfast options for early departure in perfect English. The room rates were also very reasonable for a hotel of this quality. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Bogota.…
I have wanted to try out the Sofitel Bogota Hotel for quite some time now and finally had a chance to do so recently. I only stayed one night but felt that it was more than enough to share my impressions of the hotel. In summary, this is a solid choice for a place to stay while in Bogota. The hotel is comfortable, very well-located in the heart of Bogota's shopping and entertainment district, and features very comfortable beds that Sofitel is known for in general. I also got a pretty good rate so I can't complain there. All employees were friendly and helpful overall. L'Occitane bathroom amenities which is a favorite brand of mine although besides (small) hand soap they use "communal" amenities in the shower such as shampoo, body wash, conditioner, etc, which I know is environmentally-friendly but I think I'm not really a fan of. Oh well. There was certainly some room for improvement though. The hotel's restaurant has a pretty limited menu for lunch/dinner (I didn't have time to try breakfast) and when I went in for dinner, while there was only one other table of guests, it was sort of awkward to get the attention of the restaurant staff. It seemed like there was one bartender and one waiter (maybe?) and I almost felt ignored for a moment as they were focused on other things. However, when they did notice me they were decently friendly. The club sandwich was only mediocre at best and the "egg salad" that comes on it is kind of gross. The other areas for improvement, in my opinion, in order to really be at a five star level (as they advertise themselves to be, and as the Sofitel is known to be in general as a company) is to provide turndown service (which the Four Seasons next door does) as well as to invest in better towels in the rooms. The towels in my room were some of the worst I've had in any hotel in a long time--paper thin, rough, cheap...sad. I'd like to think that the towels should be just as high quality as the bedding--in this case the bedding was great while the towels were the opposite. Oh well, at least I got a good exfoliation when drying off! This is a recommendable hotel especially if you get a good price. However, it is no Four Seasons so if that's the kind of level of service and amenities that you're looking for then go next door. The Sofitel Bogota in my opinion is more of a four and a half star hotel--keep that in mind and your expectations will probably not exceed the reality of the place.…
This hotel lived up to the Sofitel name. Unlike it sister property in Cartagena this boutique property was well worth it. Not a bad value. The room is not extraordinary but the bed is one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever stayed in which after a long flight was well needed. Staff and management were incredible, well trained, attention to detail and kind. Location was spot on in the most secure and safe parts of the city and made my time in Bogota a pleasure.
