The hotel has large and nice rooms, it's a very pretty hotel, the housekeeping was outstanding and it's in a good location. The club lounge was also a nice amenity. The hotel has tons of protentional, but the staff isn't very friendly or accommodating. If you want to feel "welcomed" this is not the hotel for you from my five-night experience. I'm Titanium/Lifetime Platinum and I did receive an upgrade to the club level but none of the junior suites showing available.
JW Marriott is a rather recent hotel (10 to 15 years old) that was probably very luxurious when it opened. Small flaws have occurred since, probably due to not high enough construction standards (noisy plumbing in bathroom) or too old equipment (mattress quality).
I am writing this review as warning to customer to review their bill whit attention to detail. I was over charged in the stated rate due to a glitch in the system. After contacting the hotel I was told that a refund was going to be processed. Its been 2 and a half months and nothing has happened. I wrote emails to management team and no answer was provided. They simply ignored my messages. Now after many times trying to contact management I was told that due to another problem in the system my refund was not processed. Do you really want to stay in a hotel were there is no customer service or were the customer is ignored after a problem? Do you want to stay in a hotel were they overcharged you and there is nobody to give you a solution? I believe there is a problem with customer service and ethics with this hotel. Errors and mistakes can occur, is they were they are handled the problem, and this situation was not handled properly.…
We stayed one night at the JW Marriott Hotel Bogota during our recent visit to Bogota in May 2022. We checked in right after landing at around 6am. Front desk staff alerted us that they didn't have a room ready yet, so we sat in the lobby for a bit fixing our pocket wifi - and waiting for a nearby restaurant to open so we could grab breakfast. We must've looked super sad, because they gave us a room about 20 minutes later. Big shout out to Giovanna who was super helpful at the front desk and Andres, who helped us with our luggage and answered any questions we had about the area. The room was very nice, very spacious and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here again
I had a two week stay in Bogota and decided to stay with the JW. All seemed will until five nights into my stay. I was having drinks with some local friends and the bar was closed. We decided to enjoy some conversation in the suite instead of the lobby. Upon their arrival right away they were accosted by security. Not even allowed to the lobby. A law student who’s mother works for the president and marketing professional treated like common prostitutes at a five star hotel. This could have been done in a professional manner, but not at the JW. I signed a registration form expecting this treatment to be done. After I signed it I was informed I would be billed $300USD ($150 each). Now. First of all my room allowed an extra guest and second of all if I was to have a third the charge according to my rate would be $80 not $150. I told the man at the front desk this was unacceptable and I’d be happy to take my business elsewhere immediately. He said that I would not be charged. I checked my bill a day later and low and behold it was there $300USD. I spoke with a manager to explained that she posted the charge. I told her o was lied to and asked politely that It be fixed right away. After around 20 minutes of my time wasted. She agreed to take one off (which shouldn’ t have been there in the first place) Also according to the GM take the $150 down to $100 even though according to my rate it should be $80 All in all I was lied to. Management makes zero effort to resolve issues and the General Manager is complacent in this activity. My credit card was charged against my will. I did check out and the hotel lost over $1000 in revenue to the Hilton. Around the corner. The hotel is racist against Colombian citizens and treats its loyal (platinum member) guests poorly. Although a lovely property it lacks the customer service you expect in a five star hotel. Avoid it and stay elsewhere. Imagine if they treated your wife or daughter like a prostitute because of the color of her skin.…
The JW in bogota was great! It was our first time in Colombia and our first stop and as two female travelers, we wanted to pick somewhere safe. The staff was welcoming and even helped us make dinner reservations and book transportation. The breakfast in the lounge was amazing. I wanted to share the info of one of our drivers as well because he was so nice, a safe driver and punctual!
A beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff. As a Marriott Elite member I always at the Marriott because of the amenities and service. I had a suite upgrade for this trip and it was a nice experience. Yohanna is excellent at her job and makes sure your stay is perfect. Executive lounge is a plus and the staff was wonderful. Great gym with spinning bikes! Front desk made arrangements for the COVID tests to be done in the room and we had the results in 10 minutes and the official travel copy a few hours later. Perfect.
We stayed two nights at the JW Marriott in Bogotá. The room (upgraded to a suite) was nice and modern. The breakfast was excellent t with a big selection of choices. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint relates to the Marriott loyalty scheme where for some reason my stay is not properly recorded despite numerous exchange of emails with the hotel.
Impressive hotel with wonderful room service with those added touches. You could arrive without a doc kit and they have all basic hygiene needs so hats off to JW. They did a special Super Bowl set up and great drink special. Maria in the restaurant is super sharp. Nice small eateries nearby as well. I will be back and great job.
We really enjoyed having dinner buffet on Christmas Eve. There were a wide range of delicious food, cocktails dessert. The staff working at the lounge were also friendly and very attentive. But the food they served in the morning and at the lounge wasn't that good. We thought we can have some local and warm food but they were mostly common American style dishes. And plus, the sauna room for women wasn't hot enough to get some sweat. I think no one cares about the sauna room.
