Booking both was good for us as we spent most of our time round the hotel either at the 3rd floor pool or the beach club. We enjoyed having breakfast in the Club lounge and the evening drinks, where the choice was far better than on the AI (basically anything). We liked having the AI as well so we could dine at the different restaurants albeit on a reduced menu, this did not bother us but I am not sure about vegetarian options. If you just booked the club then the food served with the evening drinks would be enough for a light dinner so you would only need to buy lunch but obviously you would have to pay for any drinks during the rest of the day. It really depends on how much time you will be spending around the hotel and how much you will be drinking. The service in the Club lounge was excellent and they were very helpful. Hope this helps.
