We only had a very brief time in Jerash and after a short WhatsApp exchange we reserved our room for the following night (this is a popular place with only five rooms I think, so don't leave it to chance, book in advance - we were lucky). The communal area is nice and relaxing - there is a kitchen to prepare tea and food. We went to the nearby Lebanese restaurant which was very popular and fancy but it's possible to get some very nice food on a budget here. The next morning our host prepared a tray of breakfast for each of us. We checked out before visiting the ruins for a few hours and he told us we could come back afterwards to have a cup of tea. We took him up on the offer and he made a lovely cup of tea with sage and gave us a bottle of water each. He's very kind and friendly. If you are visiting Jerash for the ruins, then I don't think you can get a better location or host. The entrance is a few minutes walk across the road. The room was very clean and includes air con, bed-side lamps and a fridge.…
Spent three nights here. Perfect for visiting Jerash and Umm Qais. It’s on a busy main road and you can’t really see it from the front but it’s definitely the place to stay in Jerash. The owner is lovely and asks all the time what he can do to improve things or help us. Breakfast was great. Would highly recommend paying the extra for the room on the roof. It’s a bit hot but having access to a wonderful roof terrace absolutely made it worthwhile.
Thanks to the reviews here I was able to book by email and WhatsApp and had a reply from Ismail within an hour. This is a great location, and a welcoming place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble, advice for serveece buses perfect, and dinner recommendations spot on. The room was great, shower hot, breakfast wonderful and everything clean. The welcome from Ismail and his son was without fault. There is parking, and there’s a locked garage if you have a motorcycle. Recommended.
We stayed for a night at the Hadrian's gate hotel, our last night in Jordan. We wanted to visit the ruins before heading to the airport. The owner, Ismail, is a wonderful person and a great host. He offered us coffee on arrival and we liked it so much that we dropped by to have the coffee even after we checked out, as he had offered it to us. Highly recommended.
We trusted the reviews and weren’t disappointed- perfect location to visit the sights, no parking problem, very friendly and helpful hosts, good breakfast and a nice room - given the price we paid for 2 nights we decided for 4 instead of 5 stars. We also followed the recommendation for dinner and had an excellent chicken in a takeaway-place nearby. After visiting the sights we drove to Bait Khayrat Souf and had a great lunch at the local cooperative led by active women-highly recommended!
