#40 of 194 Speciality lodging in Amman
Once upon a time there was an old Arabic school; it has been renovated and redecorated to become, the Monsour Hostel a backpackers paradise in downtown Amman. Under new management, there is a completely new outlook of understanding and focus that has been missing in Amman; a home away from home for the most important tourist visiting Jordan-the backpacker. This is the place where you can hang your hat, put your feet up and exchange stories with other travelers you will meet while you sip Arabic tea and coffee.

The place isn't a five star hotel, could fix the water system in the bathrooms but I loved these local struggles and funky owner with the good portion of humour ! I appreciate the easy going people and healthy communication I experienced there :)

The whole place is in a very bad condition. Bed sheets smells not too good. Bathroom was very dirty, but had hot water. Electricity wires was hanging from the wall. Beds are creaking. Location is very good, in the heart of the city. Staff was nice and helpful. Wi-fi range in the room.

The localization is good, in the middle of downtown. Loads of restaurantes, stores, atm, pharmacy... also its not that far from the main tourist places. The place is all old, dirty, smelling bad, messy. The room is the same: dirty sheets, towel, floor and bathroom. The worst thing was that I felt I was inside a sauna all the time I was there, really hot, without air cond, only with a dirty old fan inside the room. The Wifi is poor at second floor, where is the rooms, same I can talk about the breakfast included. You get what you pay for, but in that case, I would pay a litle more and stay in a better place next time.
