I'm a solo woman traveller and was really, really impressed with my stay at the Austrian Hospice. I stayed in the female only dorm (they are single sex dorms) for 4 nights for around 20 Euro a night including a typical Austrian breakfast. The bathroom was absolutely spotless, as was the dorm. I felt safe and my belongings were secure...

The hospice surprised us for the incredible advantageous price/service! We paid 84 euros but, in my opinion, it was worth three times the price. Rooms are very clean and in december were heated during night (very important). The building is outstanding. Organization of meals and cleanliness are just perfect. My advice: book at least six months in advance and enjoy...

We stayed here for 4nights because Ecce Hommo was full but considered it due to high reviews. The good: -rooms and bathrooms are spacious, modern and even felt luxurious and elegant. This is due to being an ex-Austrian embassy. -the meals are great. -great view of the old city of Jerusalem. -staff are professional -great appeal to German speaking visitors....

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Austrian Hospice . Right in the Old City , not far from the Damascus Gate . An oasis of peace and quiet amidst the bustle and noise of the Arab Quarter . There is a mosque right by , and the calls to prayer are very audible . So take ear plugs for...

The service was good and staff friendly enough. The room was bigger than expected with 3 separate beds. Very simple, but comfortable and clean. On the other hand, bathroom was small, and the toilet did not work. It was fixed only the next day after asking reception several times. Our room had a view to the main "street" and it...

The Austrian Hospice is an amazing retreat inside the Old City. We stayed in a double room in November 2010. The location is unbeatable, and there is a sense of comfort and hospitality as soon as you ring the doorbell and walk the steps up to the garden. The staff are friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms are functional...

I spend in the Austrian Hospice 7 nights from August 2 to August 9, 2010. The place where it is located is the best possible: in the middle of Arab Quarter, in between Al-Wad and Via Dolorosa. Damascus gate is 2 minutes walking, the Wall is quite close, it is perfect and you feel Jerusalem. The atmosphere is great, it...

The location was perfect for us, as Franciscans. The staff were friendly and helpful. Even the Muslim cry to prayer from the Minaret outside my window had its beauty. We were told the Arabic words meant: "It is better to rise and pray than sleep."

Superb location in the Old City of Jerusalem. The dorms were perfect (7 beds). Comfortable beds. Lockers inside the dorms (no extra charge). Breakfast vey nice and included in the price. Baths very clean. Very nice gardens to sit and relax after a rushing day in Jerusalem. I've been many times in this city and I only regret not finding...
