courteous staff, shower stall/bathtub a bit awkward, mosque nearby; good conference facilities, beautiful central courtyard for dining, close to the walled old city; occasional sightings of foreign dignitaries

Thanks to great rooms, lobby, courtyard and bar we had an amazing experience in an authentic atmosphere in Jerusalem. Hopefully they will upgrade the menu/food for a 100% experience. Location is close to the old city unfortunately there are no other restaurants in walking distance.

This is a lovely old hotel situate in the Arab district of Jerusalem about a 20 minute walk from the Damascus Gate of the Old City. We were in a suite which was very large, airy, bright, well laid out and very comfortable. It was well equipped (tv in both the bedroom and sitting area with a ton of American... More

We stayed on the recommendation of several folks that were living here while working. I immediately fell in love with the photos on TA posts and have to say there were no disappointments. The building is gorgeous with the most lovely adornments and deeply rich character. Our room was quiet, incredibly comfortable and expansive. We overlooked the lovely blue waters... More

It's a beautiful hotel, with a unique atmosphere, very soft and relaxed; the structure, its facilities and rooms are very good and the service is impeccable; the restaurant is also excellent. Only slightly negative point is about the location: the hotel is a bit isolated from the city centre, which is not far away (less than 2km), but the area... More

A few years back I had to work in Palestine for a few days, but due to the lack of quality hotels I opted to stay in Jerusalem and commute to work each day (which was a unique experience in itself). As the name suggests, this is an old colonial style hotel and the pictures online are a true representation... More

My first visit here and I already feel home away from home. The old architecture and the breathtaking American colony hotel is incomparable with other hotels around the world. It's simply beautiful like living in your own home and garden.

After a drive up from the Dead Sea, we found the American Colony hotel so easily and just fell into the calm of this little haven. Everyone was so friendly and SO helpful. We were shown to our wonderful room, which not only had THE most comfortable bed and linen, but also lots of space and views and balcony and... More

There is a reason this hotel is famous throughout the world - everything is perfect. After less than 5 minutes in the lobby you will never want to leave so just gaze on the plaque that lists just some of their famous guests. The staff are attentive and friendly with the hotel taxi drivers especially fun and helpful. The rooms... More
