We stayed in a suite that had views of the newer parts (western) of Jerusalem. The suite was everything we had hoped it would be. The rooms were well equipped, very comfortable, and kept clean. The staff was courteous, always on the spot when requested, and always checked on our needs in the evening, offering various treats as they did so. I loved staying here, and would certainly do it again.
Very good, a really powerhuse hotel in a safe and clean parte of the city. Solid breakfast, room big enough for an huge old dude like me. Prize good as well. I Will be back in March, Airport Is also close.
Location was near to the Old City good local shopping street Salahdin I have had the opportunity to stay in many good hotels in Jerusalem over the years but the American Colony ticks all my boxes staff are very professional and go that exra mile
Perfect service but you feel as though you are staying at a private home. Lovely amenities and thoughtful touches. Lovely gardens and secret hidden courtyards to fin at every turn. Good food with international and local dishes. Expansive breakfast options.
The American Colony Hotel in East Jerusalem is a beautiful and historic place to stay. The staff are friendly and were obliging of any requests we had during our stay. The lobby has a vast seating area with wood burning stove lighting in the evenings. The gardens are beautiful and are a great place to sit and relax throughout the day. During our stay, we dined in the Cellar Bar and main restaurant. The light snacks in the bar were good and the restaurant food was very nice. The menu has a good offering of quality local and international cuisine. The rooms were very comfortable. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the gardens and on-site shops. The beds were very comfortable. The television had a large choice of international channels. The mini-bar is serviced everyday and no additional charges are incurred when availing of it. Turn down service is provided every night. The bathroom was spacious and contains a radio. Quality individual toiletries of the Acqua di Parma brand are provided. Shower was over the bath. Also on the grounds is the Palestinian Heritage Museum and this is well worth a visit if you have an interest in the culture. The only possible downside that I could see if you are staying here for tourism is that it is a bit of a walk to the Old City. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the Damascus Gate. However the area is well lit and felt safe at all times. However, the hotel is fantastic and a very beautiful place to stay while in Jerusalem.…
An exceptional place to spend a few nights or a week—excellent amenities and wonderful service accompanied by a most delicious breakfast. We enjoyed reading about the founding of the American Colony in Jerusalem and the many photographs, articles and artifacts around the hotel that documented its history.
Staying at the American Colony Hotel last week was the best part of our challenging trip to Israel. By the time we reached the hotel, we had been traveling for a week with three sick kids and no luggage. The hotel employees were so helpful and kind, particularly Yusef Habash, the concierge manager, who went way above and beyond the call of duty and spent hours, both on and off duty, trying to contact Egypt to help us get our luggage sent to Israel. Everyone treated us with such kindness, that was the sweetest part of an otherwise difficult situation. We were there over Christmas and the hotel was so warm and decorated beautifully for the holiday. Santa came to visit and brought gift bags. The rooms had treats for the holidays as well. The restaurant was wonderful for dinner and breakfast. The rooms are so unique and the property is a relaxing oasis in the middle of a busy city. The next time we are in Jerusalem, there is only one place we will stay! Thank you. …
Our family did a 9-day tour of Israel and Jordan. With all the moving around we did, we were incredibly thankful for 4 nights in Jerusalem, and that those 4 nights were at The American Colony hotel. All the details have been well thought through at this historic and beautifully maintained property. This was our first time staying at a "boutique" hotel instead of a large chain. The service was warm, welcoming, and outstanding by EVERYone we encountered. We are family of 4 and at the recommendation of our tour company, we booked two Pasha Deluxe rooms. We were very glad we paid a little extra for these rooms - it was worth every penny! We basically had our own suite - the rooms were not connected but we had a separate entrance in the hallway that we could lock while keeping our room doors open for easier access. It was perfect for our family! The rooms were very clean and spacious. (Even though this is an old property - it didn't feel, or smell, old and tired.) We were grateful for the extra space, comfortable beds, and well-equipped bathrooms after our long days of touring. Bonuses: The bathrooms had heated floors!! The showers had amazing water pressure. And, the minibar in the rooms had complimentary beverages that they restocked each day. After pounding the pavement all day, we were glad to "stay in" 3 out of the 4 evenings we were there. We ate dinner at the Cellar Bar and Val's and also got room service. We felt the prices were very fair for a boutique hotel and we all enjoyed everything we ordered. The portions were also very generous. The breakfast buffet (included with the room rate) was fabulous and the service there was also outstanding. We highly recommend this beautiful property that has a rich history in an excellent location in Jerusalem. Thank you for a wonderful stay!…
Excellent service is what I will take away from my experience at the American Colony Hotel. The staff are very mindful of our needs and they provide us service more than what we expect. They are also very courteous . The checking in and checking out are very smooth. We love the stone walls and the central patio. The story of how the hotel is built is truly moving.
American Colony hotel was amazing. Ambience is superb. The weather was conducive for stay indoors. It's not far from Old city. We had a balcony to smoke as the hotel is a smoke free. Thanks to the front desk.
