I have better memories from our student cantina than from the restaurant of Golden Hotel! Extra small rooms, old TVs, very unhigienical bathrooms. I dont know what they charge per night because we were acommodated there by a travel agency, but fo the service and...More
The hotel is very close to the bus station.
Single room was a bit on the small side, and parking is not free, but overall I had a pleasant experience with a decent price/value ratio.

I'm not sure about their dinner package but if it is anything like the breakfast don't book the package (unless you're kosher and have a lot of money to spend) there is a grocery store behind the hotel as well as several restaurants. If you walk 10 minutes there is maheme yahuda for food or you can jump on the train behind the hotel to old city. There are plenty of easy and affordable dinner options.

Nothing is open on Friday evening until sundown, the following Saturday in Jerusalem. It is Shabbat. Well, almost nothing. You can google a list of restaurants and tourists sites open during those hours. At the Gold I think you can reserve the special Shabbat luncheon on Saturday. No vending machines at the Gold, no coffee or tea on Saturday.
