I haven't stayed in this hotel, however, I used its amenities. Gold Hotel in Jerusalem is a transfer point for tourist companies. Our tourist company appeared to be scam, but the receptionist in the hotel and person standing in front of it were warm hearted....More
We stayed in Jerusalem Gold with a group last week of October 2017. Hotel is very dated, everything old and broken. No hairdryer in the room, you must ask from the reception and receptionist said he will give it “tomorrow”!!! I asked from the restaurant...More
This hotel is old and run down. Costumer service is very poor. The rooms are small and not very clean. It is near the central bus station and very, very loud with street noise! Our air conditioning wasn't working and finally after asking for assistance...More

I'm not sure about their dinner package but if it is anything like the breakfast don't book the package (unless you're kosher and have a lot of money to spend) there is a grocery store behind the hotel as well as several restaurants. If you walk 10 minutes there is maheme yahuda for food or you can jump on the train behind the hotel to old city. There are plenty of easy and affordable dinner options.

Nothing is open on Friday evening until sundown, the following Saturday in Jerusalem. It is Shabbat. Well, almost nothing. You can google a list of restaurants and tourists sites open during those hours. At the Gold I think you can reserve the special Shabbat luncheon on Saturday. No vending machines at the Gold, no coffee or tea on Saturday.
