This is a well-run, charming and surprisingly smart hotel in a great location between the Damascus and Herod’s Gates. You get a warm welcome and courteous, efficient treatment from all the staff – waiters, porters, barmen etc. The food at breakfast and dinner (both buffet style) is varied and delicious, with both Arabian and European dishes on offer. We stopped here as part as a pilgrimage, the location was just right for seeing around Jerusalem, just being opposite the Damascus Gate and easy to get into the old city. Staff were friendly and helpful, you were given a wide verity of food for breakfast and dinner. Well worth a place to stay at.

This hotel is very close to the Damascus Gate into the Old City of Jerusalem. The staff were helpful and kind. The food was excellent with lots of choice at both breakfast and dinner. Our room was a good size and the bed was comfortable.

The staff (in all departments) at the Golden Walls Hotel could not have been more helpful. Great hospitality and good service. Enjoyed the wide range of local foods. The room was good with everything that was needed - clean and well organised.

We stayed here with a larger tour group. Rooms are small but comfortable. The breakfast buffet is excellent with numerous types of food. Free WiFi. Excellent location---walking distance to the Old City.

Wonderful place to be to access Jerusalem and all its wonderful history. We were lucky but the trouble was all around us, such a pity that there can not be peace for the local people. Very friendly staff but lift out of order, otherwise great place.

Almost opposite Damscus Gate the location can not be better. Despite being so central it was possible to sleep with an open window. At room 246 I did not even get the wake up call from the very close mosque. However, the elevators did not work as they are changing them. The room itself was fine, however aircondition was not... We stayed here fir 6 nights during our recent pilgrimage tour. The location is very good, close to the Damascus gate but as it is in East Jerusalem some taxi drivers are reluctant to take you back there. We were fortunate to have a refurbished room that was reasonably large, it was clean enough and we had a good shower... More

Location of hotel was excellent, just outside of the Damascus gate entrance to the old city. We had what seemed to be a refurbished room compared to some others in our group. The room was sufficiently spaced with good quality interior. The view was not too great and the bath shower doors were badly designed. The hotel does have a... More
