My friends and I celebrated my birthday with a spa day at the Jerusalem Crowne Plaza. We started with breakfast, which was a typical Israeli buffet. The food was good, but the service a bit slow. We enjoyed our massages very much, but the rest of the spa was a bit disapointing. It consists of a covered swimming pool and...

2nd stay. Walk to central bus station, light rail and Machane Yehuda (jewish shouk). Close proximity to reasonable authentic restaurants. Short bus or train rides to other main parts of the city. Indoor/outdoor large pool suitable for laps. Casual dining in hotel reasonable and good. Got excellent rate thru AMEX travel.

Fabulous! Food is excellent! Service was friendly and prompt. Mufid Ahasi was a special waiter with great skill... We loved Jerusalem and Israel! Wonderful experience! The selection of food was fresh and prepared nicely.

The hotel is in a great location, is lovely and the staff was wonderful. The price was also very reasonable, including for parking our car. When we go back, we will without hesitation stay there again.

My organization held a charity event at this hotel. The people were lovely to work with and very accommodating. The buffet lunch was nicely presented and very tasty. The only problem was getting up to the stage. We had some elderly women who were speakers and had to use portable stairs with no rails to hold on to. It was...

The title (run down) refers to the hotel, rooms, and what you'll be doing on the stairs because of how slow and oversubscribed the elevators are. If your need is a bed and place close to the sights, it's adequate. If you're hoping for more, look elsewhere.

The hotel was okay. It looked like it would have once been considered a luxury hotel. The rooms were reminiscent of a motor inn. The communication was poor and the toiletries scant and at best unremarkable.
