I stayed 8 nights in a private room in the Abraham Hostel in Jerusalem. The room is pretty basic but more than enough for me. And it's still a hostel! The rooftop terrace has a great view and is awesome to chill, the bar has food and drinks for a decent price. So you don't have to leave the hostel...

This hostel was really great - we don't normally stay in hostels but Isreal is a pricey place to travel and we took a tour with them so decided to stay there as well. It's in a good location and has good facilities and a great breakfast (doing our own washing up was a novelty!). There are lots of things...

My husband & I stayed here for a few nights in one of the more "upgraded" rooms - i.e. private room & bathroom + TV. As you can imagine, expect nothing fancy at this hostel, even with one of the private rooms. However, it really does have what you need. The rate was still well over $100/USD per night but...

I stayed in a private room in Abraham Hostel Jerusalem with my mother when we were on a Holy Land Tour last month, and I can say we really enjoyed our stay there. First off, the staff were so helpful and accommodating. The check-in was very smooth and everything I needed to know was given to me. They also assisted...

Perfect location, amazing staff, very nice rooms and showers. We stayed in the 10-bed dormitory, and any complain... everything clean, and the bathroom and the shower faultless. I love the decoration and the ambient of the hostel. I strongly recommend this hostel for everyone, and I will definitely repeat!

Stayed in a private room for a few nights. Good things: seemed quiet enough, despite facing onto Davidka Square; it helps that there are free earplugs at reception (I actually needed the earplugs to block out the humming in-room fridge rather than street noise). Nice pillows, particularly liked the long body pillow. The nearby market is excellent for stocking up...

I had pretty high expectations about this hostel after reading such good reviews, but I was a little disapppointed... The main problem was the noise, especially if you are unlucky enough to get a room close to the doorless pub... The music was way too loud too late into the night, in particular considering that life in Jerusalem starts very...

Abraham Hostel is easily the best hostel I have ever been to in the world. It is teeming with amazing activities for travellers from all walks of life, but make sure you are not over 40 as the hostel accepts only youngsters. Pack a bag, sign up for some (or all) events and activities the hostel in Jerusalem offers and...

It's accessible via tram or bus, walking distance to the Old Town And the Shouk. Friendly and helpful staff, they also have activities and tours. I ended up joining their organise tours, the Masada Sunrise. We hike up to the fortress, then visited the En Gedi Reserve and we laze around at the DeadSea it was fun!

The hostel itself is really quite nice. It's well maintained and everyone is extremely friendly. It attracts a particularly interesting and international crowd and the common room is an excellent place to make some new friends. What really makes it special though are the tours they offer. I went with them into the West Bank city of Hebron where we...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abraham is known as the father of monotheism and was the first backpacker in the Middle East. He journeyed throughout the lands accepting hospitality from those whose homes he came to, and extending hospitality to anyone who passed near his tent. We wish to extend Abraham's Biblical hospitality to our time. We, the staff & owners of Abraham Hostels, created our dream hostel in Jerusalem to support travelers in the Middle East. The Abraham Hostel is located in Jerusalem's city center catering for independent travelers and small groups. Our location allows for easy walking access to all major sites such as the Old City or Mahane Yehuda Market. There are plenty of public transportation options right outside to various Jerusalem sites, as well as to the international airport and other cities in Israel and the West Bank. The hostel offers daily activities and tours in our ongoing effort to encourage travelers to make new friends and new experiences. Whether it's our hostel bar, traveler's information center or chill-out rooftop, we try to provide everything an independent traveler needs when travelling in the area. For those traveling outside Jerusalem there is a special discount when staying in Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv and the Fauzi Azar Inn in Nazreth, as well as special shuttle service between all three branches. ... more   less
