The Orient is a perfectly fine five star hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable and the bathroom is spacious with a lovely walk in shower and a bath. The staff are helpful and charming and special shout out must go to Omri who was amazing. We ate one day in the milk restaurant downstairs and had a delicious cheese board and salad washed down with a great bottle of wine BUT the hotel misses the opportunity to make a good stay into an outstanding one by the lack of attention to small details. The bathroom had no face wash cloths or those little packages with Qtips and cotton wool pads inside. A dirty glass was left in our bedroom for two days , pyjama’s were left in a crumpled pile on the side table ,the waste bin wasn’t emptied and there was no bed turning down service The breakfast was adequate but nothing special and the waiting staff were poorly trained. We sat with our dirty plates on the table and were asked if we’d like an omelette at the end of our meal !! We ate another night in the restaurant upstairs with its fabulous view over the old city. We weren’t very hungry so we shared a couple of starters. My husband had crackers and dips. Beautiful and unusual crackers served with four different dips. All the dips were industrially produced and , other than the colour, it was impossible to know which was which. I had chicken wings which neither looked or tasted like any chicken that Ive ever had and all covered with an unappealing sauce. As I said, the hotel has nothing that would have me complaining about but also nothing to make it outstanding or make me feel like I want to revisit…
The Spa was amazing!!! Olga from the Spa department was very kind and helpful! We enjoyed by two very good treatment Revina and Natali! Was excellent experience! Definitely we will come back!! Thanx
Our room on the 9th floor was wonderful, just a bit too close to the elevator so we heard a lot of noise. Id request something farther next time, but the view was incredible. Room was spotlessly clean, bed was very comfortable. The towels are very large which is a very nice touch! Staff was very helpful. Even during a busy time at breakfast there were plenty of waiters circulating and we received omelets and coffee very quickly.
STAY AWAY unless you want your stuff stolen by the staff! It's very unfortunate that you can't feel safe with your belongings at a beautiful hotel in such a beautiful city. The housekeeping steals your belongings. That's all I have to say. I forgot a very sentimental and expensive necklace in a very specific spot that I placed it, saw it when running out, and forgot to grab it, and when I called 30 min later it mysteriously was not there. I received the run around all day, nobody was helpful, and it is such a disappointment. The staff could care less if you stayed at the hotel or were a guest. From the girls on their phones or talking to each other at the front desk, the security office I had multiple calls with and did nothing or could care less, or the email website contact I wrote multiple times for them to stop responding. Stay at any of the other high-end hotels before this one. It’s a beautiful hotel but don’t be fooled, the staff will steal your belongings. I even have proof and they just won’t respond anymore. It’s very sad.…
We decided to splurge and spend a couple nights at a five star hotel. The orient was a very special experience. The building is beautiful and has a little museum that talks about the German colony The staff were helpful and responsive. The room was large and beautifully decorated with lots of special touches. The bed was very comfortable. The workout room was large and well equipped with plenty of weights and machines. My husband enjoyed swimming in their indoor pool. He wanted to swim in the outdoor pool on the 10th floor but it was closed when it was supposed to be open on the morning we left. The only thing I would say that wasn’t so great about the hotel was the first floor restaurant. I had the salmon salad, but the salmon was over cooked.
This was a bice Hotel near central Jerusalem. The rooms were nice. And the pool at the rooftop was delightful with a good view of the most of Jerusalem. Breakfast and lobby were spacious and well organised. Would stay here again.
The service was super, food amazing, customer service out this world . Hotel amenities great . Orient top service and food great . Hotel front desk very helpful and willing to help all the time . Housekeeping did a tremendous job room was always clean and spotless
We had an amazing 7 day trip with our family. It was made even more amazing by Hamza (manager in breakfast) who always went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we need and more! We would go back again!
Having lived in and visited Israel more times than I can count I was most impressed by our family's experience at the Istrotel Orient Hotel in Jerusalem. Never before had I received such proactive, professional, warm service. A special thanks to Hamza who really went above and beyond to check in daily and ensure we had everything we could want and more. It is managers like him who exemplify customer service and epitomize the best in hospitality. The Orient is lucky to have such committed and dedicated staff, and so are its visitors. The food, shower water pressure, pillows were all awesome and consistent. Can't praise this hotel experience enough. We will be back! Sincere thanks.
Had a memorable morning with my mother. We arrived at the hotel and were welcomed by the staff, that helped my mother to watch her step. We toured the hotel and went up to the roof to witness the most beautiful view of the old city of Jerusalem. We had the best breakfast I have ever had, the luxury, the variety and the taste that I can still feel. The service was so generous and best in class level. Absolutely recommended and a must go to stop in Jerusalem
