The location is great, it is just right outside of the Damascus gate of the old city. The room is basic but ok. But the internet sucks! We couldn't get any connection in our room. And the staff response is that this is internet company's problem, not theirs. So every time we want to use Internet, we have to go... More

We had a very good experience staying here. The location is great (right across the street from the Old City) & they are very accommodating / generous. The rooms are fairly nice, and they have a van & driver that you can rent for a day--which we did and enjoyed; the driver took us wherever we wanted and we had... More

I made my reservation 47 days in advance (with 42 days left for free cancellation ) when I saw a bargain deal promoted on booking.com. However, when I arrived at the hostel for checking in , I was told that the room rate I booked (and been confirmed by booking.com) was not correct due to a "system error ", the... More

The hostel is next to local market. It's noisy for whole day till midnight. I can't sleep well at there. The bed is hard and not so comfortable. When i go outing, the nearby street and road is not clean and not easy to walk due to the goods of local market.

Not sure why this guesthouse has poor reviews. I stayed here twice in March and April. It's cheap and cheerful with a superb location - very very easy to find, opposite Damascus Gate tram stop and one minute from Damascus Gate itself. There's a brightly lit sign so you can't miss it! I also recommend staying just outside the Old... More

The place isn't not a 5 star hotel, people must keep in mind that it's hostel... You have all the necessity : bed, shower, bathroom, WiFi, breakfast, hot and cold water. They delivered. Its not the tidiest looking place but the staff do their job promptly. There's nothing wrong with the place, if can put up with a place that... More

I stayed 10 nights in one of the dorms. As it is probably the cheapest hostel around I'd give the overall experience 80%. The location is really good, right next to Damascus Gate, close to the bus stop, the tram and (relatively) cheap restaurants or super markets. It is at the border to the palestinian quarter, thus practical for people... More

I stayed a week at the New Palm and I loved every bit of it. It's an older building in the heart of the Old City, steps away from the bus terminal for buses to the West Bank and right next to Damascus Gate. If you are a history lover, it does not get better than living right in the... More
