If you have other discount options for places to stay in Eilat, I would avoid Fawlty Towers if you can. The walls are thin, so you'll hear conversations happening in the rooms next to yours. When we arrived, there were no towels, some mysterious black dust was leaking from the air conditioner/heater onto my bed, and the hotel attendant was handing out rolls of toilet paper to all the guests on the second floor. The rooms are pretty spare and it's clear the owner hasn't spent a lot of time thinking about how to make them more comfortable. On the upside, the internet worked pretty well.
I appreciate Eilat is expensive but a private room at this hostel for $55 per night is excessive. I stayed for 2 nights in total. I will clarify the score of 2/5. The gentlemen that showed me to my room was very pleasant, so customer service was good. This was the only occasion I met anyone (including guests) during my brief stay. The en suite had a shower which was powerful and hot. The location; walking distance to the beach (12mins brisk pace), shops within 2mins. Wifi was good and the room had air con. The bed sheets had not been changed from the previous guest that stayed in the room. Cigarette ash on the locker next to the bed. The whole building is a bit depressing. Perhaps during busier months, when there is a increased number of guests, there maybe just a little more soul and life. …
The rooms were very small and extremely basic. They were clean and the air conditioning worked very well which is much needed in Eilat in summer. We did not manage to get much sleep because of the noise from other rooms. We did not feel that the accomodation warranted the price.
It's very expencive in Eilat at summer months so for 300 nis you can get only a very basic motel room, like this. If you need only a place to sleep, keed food in freeze etc- this is for you. Not so clean, if cleaness is your term you maybe must find another place. Very nice helpful stuff, 24-hours opened reception, good location in quiet area (15 min walking to the beaches )
Arrived eilat for a scooba license and stayed at Fawlty. Loved the place, walking distance everywhere, has WiFi which is awesome! The manager was very nice and helpful with all our needs. Will come back for sure
This is a very nice historic, renovated building. The Staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. I was impressed with how clean the room was, gorgeous view of the mountains and low price. The shower was excellent and the atmosphere calm and quiet.
We stayed two different nights in two different rooms with a trip to Jordan in between and it was totally average. The rooms have balconies with little views which are nice, the bed sheets had some holes in them though and the bathroom was small and did not drain well. It was average.
had a great time at fawlty towers, the owner is very nice host, i felt like home, he helped us with tips about everything, we gonna come back for sure to fawlty towers in my next holiday in eilat. israel.
