Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids stayed at Neptune for 4 nights. The best part is location and the view from the balcony. The breakfast is nice, plenty of choices . We booked a suite , hoping to enjoy a nice room , something above a standard room. Well, first of all, the elevator does not go all the way to the room entrance, as you have to go something like half floor up by stairs, which was very inconvenient considering we had a baby in stroller. This fact was never mentioned in information about this type of room. The suite itself is very dated, and the level of cleaning is very unsatisfactory, especially now, with all the corona pandemics stuff going around. You would be expect that the hotel will put an extra effort in keeping thing clean , but not so much happened. The door handles were sticky only God knows from what, there were dust on surfaces. The bath tub is very old and the metal parts stained with corrosion. There was some dirt on the tiles besides the sink , which I easily removed with wet wipes, meaning no one even tried to clean it before me. One day we were out and came back to find the sink full of water , which my son left there, accidentally pushing the plug down . No one even bothered to drain the water and to wash the sink during daily maintenance. The daily cleaning was very symbolic, the floor wasn’t cleaned every day. Just making the beds counts for cleaning at this hotel. The elevator cabins were dirty most of the time, and it was the same dirty stain around the buttons for 4 days! There is a man at the main entrance, taking the temperature from anyone entering the hotel. Well, I don’t know if this is the only purpose for him standing there, but I suppose he could help me opening the door when I’m carrying a little child on my hands. But no, not even bothering himself to do that. Overall, nice location, stunning view, nice pool, but soooo overpriced , not at all worth the money we spent there.

We had high expectations upon arrival because of the hotel’s description and rating. Unfortunately it didn’t meet our expectations. We had called beforehand to make sure they had a crib that would accommodate our 2,5 year young child as otherwise we would bring along our foldable crib. On the phone they clearly told us yes yes we have two different sizes of cribs, a smaller one and a larger one that would definitely fit for our 2,5 year child. Upon arrival, to our big disappointment at the front desk they told us they ONLY have cribs up to the age of 2. That meant for us that the 3 nights we were there we hardly slept as we had to take our toddler with us in bed. Another big disappointment was the lack of care for hygiene. Many of the staff (especially the housekeeping staff) walk around without a mask while cleaning your rooms. They also don’t seem to supervise/monitor guests walking around the lobby area without a mask. With all due respect, wearing a mask on your chin is not considered as wearing a mask. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one is simply because of the fact that they offered my wife a little cake for her birthday. The hotel is described as being renovated with freshly looking rooms but the reality is more like rooms looking 15-20 years old. The couch pillow in our room even had a brown stain on it 🤮. Common, in these COVID-19 times, you have to be more observant for tidiness in the rooms!

The hotel is located along the beach with good access to swimming and beach facilities. The rooms are very well equipped and, surprisingly, rooms light fixtures allow reading printed books and newspapers. The room has a nice balcony overlooking the sea. Restaurant food variety is astonishing. Compliments to the shed.

While in Canada we have booked Neptune Hotel for 2 nights stay in March 2020 and shortly after booking we have received confirmation by email. 3 days before our scheduled trip to Eilat we got an email that hotel will be closed due to maintenance work during days of our stay and we have an option to cancel or being moved to different hotel in Eilat. While our Neptune room was facing sea side the proposed other hotel was facing so called garden side or we had an option to upgrade to seaside for additional price with possibility of refund for price difference subject to Dan hotels approval. ! day before the trip I called Neptune hotel and apparently there are no maintenance works carried out and Dan Hotels cancelling on us was done on the false pretenses and an excuse to cancel our confirmed reservation was an outright Lie.

Dear Yorams566, Thank you for highlighting your disappointment in the communication and reservation processes. We can only apologize for any misunderstandings. While there was some small maintenance that was carried out at the hotel, some of the staff may not have been informed as to why the hotel had been closed for this short period. We thank you for highlighting the necessity to keep everyone informed. We hope you enjoyed the other, upgraded hotel that we arrange for you and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you to Neptune Eilat in the near future, with thanks and best regards, Olah - Guest Relations Manager
