Dar Sitti Aziza is more than a heritage hotel: it is a labor of love. In English, the name of our hotel is “The House of My Grandmother Aziza.” The name Aziza means “precious” in Arabic, which to us gives our hotel a double meaning: it is precious both in word and also in memory of our grandmother whose name it bears. We have many fond memories of hearing stories about this unique home of our family, and we are now ready to offer this home to the many visitors who come around the world to visit Bethlehem, Palestine and beyond.Ahlan wa sahlen! You are welcome!

My husband and I stayed at the Dar Sitti Aziza for two nights in February as part of an 8-day Israeli vacation. We were not part of a tour but crafted a vacation that allowed up to spend a couple of nights in various locations throughout Israel. We started our trip with two (2) nights in Bethlehem. It truly was the highlight of our trip. Dar Sitti Aziza is a lovingly renovated 500-year-old boutique hotel in the heart of Bethlehem, just steps away from the Church of the Nativity. A spectacular location! Nabil, the hotel owner and host, is a true treasure. His warmth and hospitality are unsurpassed anywhere. Nabil greeted us upon arrival after a long flight from the US with hot tea and homemade cakes. Our room, the “Bride of Bethlehem” room, was large, nicely appointed, and immaculately clean. We had all of the comforts of home, a comfortable bed, a desk for some work, extra seating, a full bathroom with lovely organic toiletries, and historic ambiance. Everything I could have hoped for. At Dar Sitti Aziza, each room is named for its unique history. Nabil’s family has owned this home for over 500 years, and his love for his heritage is evident throughout the hotel. It’s filled with so many special touches. The least of which is the wonderful breakfast!! It is a true feast. The special eggs (his mother’s secret recipe) are delicious and perfectly cooked. Nabil even took us on a personal evening tour of Bethlehem and treated us to amazing kunafa at a local café. Delicious!! Nabil was very responsive to our inquiries before we arrived. He even helped secure a taxi for us from Jerusalem to Bethlehem and then back again. This was a huge help. We would not hesitate to stay here again and look forward to our next stay a Dar Sitti Aziza.

My wife, 6 month year old baby and I stayed here last summer (so SORRY for late review Nabil!!) and loved this place. Literally stone's throw from the nativity church and the rest of town, this cosy hotel is very clean and well organised. The rooms are spacious with beautiful coloured glass in the windows and arched ceilings. There is a beautiful courtyard which is the perfect setting for a delicious breakfast (or should I say banquet? Complete with family recipe eggs - a must try!), where herbs, veg and flowers are tended to beneath the shade of the trees. What made the stay really special however was owner Nabil. A lovely sweet man with perfect English and knowledge of all things local and Palestinian. Very patient, very accommodating and extremely kind, even giving us a lift back to my wife's house in Ramallah and another very generous gift we were extremely grateful for. he can help with any taxis or local amenities you might need. Nabil's mother, who used to run the hotel, also came and shared breakfast with us -even taking over baby feeding duties so that we could enjoy ourselves! As we have family in Palestine and aren't tourists we are pretty picky about where we stay but we would be back here in a heartbeat. In fact we'd come back to Bethlehem, even though we've visited a million times, just to stay here. Thanks again Nabil (and apologies for the extremely late review - life ran away with us!). We will back to see you soon, inshallah!

We were fortunate to stay at this beautiful 500 year old treasure of a place ; adjacent to the Church of Nativity. Nabil, our host, was immensely gracious and welcoming....exuding Palestinian generosity. The rooms were immaculate, the breakfast was this great feast made with love and care; the location was unbeatable. Nabil took special care of our group of 14 people.....we literally felt at home! Thank you, Nabil....for making our trip so memorable! We’d love to visit you again soon!

Besides being in a great location, feet from Manger Square and the Nativiity Church, this guest house is lovely in every way: it is in a unique, very old building that has been completely renovated; it is immaculate and very nicely decorated--both the lobby/breakfast -sitting room; the rooms are nicely appointed with excellent toiletries inclusind g a most wonderful olive oil cream that the amazing host-owner provides all his guests. The breakfast is fantastic and includes fried eggs made with a special family recipe and served with love by a great staff and Nabil, the owner, who treats every guest with special care. He clearly loves hosting and being as helpful as he can be. As an example, he sits with his guests during breakfast, and even makes Turkish coffee for them if they desire. He asks each guest if there is anything they need or anything more that he can do for them. He even drove my phone to me in the rain pouring rain at 11 PM at night that I had left in the guest house after I checked out! Who does that? No other hotel or guest house would do that, I am sure. Nabil is the best! And his staff is well-trained, pleasant and courteous. Iyas, his protege is an amazing intelligent young man who we enjoyed getting to know. If you need a driver-guide, I recommend you call Saif at +972-59-727-2885. He lives nearby. He is a driver and a guide who is very knowledgeable and can take you anywhere you want to go.

We spent last weekend in Bethlehem in Dar sitti Aziza and we had a great time. The house is majestic, takes you back in time which is exactly what I look for in my travels. The rooms where huge, everything was clean, the owner was extra caring and pleasant, the staff were polite and super helpful. House is a few feet from the church of nativity which made it extra special. We were with our four kids ranging in age from 8 to 20 and they each found their special favorite part of dar sitti aziza. Thanks to Nabil and the staff for a great stay and great food.
